Well looks like I was wrong about him breaking out of his slump and that we should hold on to him. Can't even stay healthy now.
While we're at it lets throw Vmac in there as well. I'm done with him as a receiver.
Let's roll with celek and bell more and Vmac can just block.

Similar to how Taylor Mays was traded through sending out a mass email to all teams, I hope VD's trade availability was made over a private Instagram account.

This is all too late. If they had entertained this in the preseason or last year, they could have traded him before he was unhealthy, before it was clear he was declining that fast, and before Kansas City had their slump. We should've traded with them. They might not have ever considered that, but now they definitely wouldn't trade for him now that their season is over and their draft pick might be better than they thought it was going to be.

Little further clarification. He indicated they are open to trading him, which has been known around the league for the third straight season now.
The 49ers entered trade talks with teams after his 13 TD season and supposedly again last year and both times they turned down offers that would've "at best" netted them a 6th round pick, according to Jay Glazer. Some would probably take a 6th round pick for him at this point.

I could see him going to Pats and they make gold out of a turd.
I could also see Atlanta being willing to take a stab.
Ravens maybe with his Maryland ties and their injuries at the position.
So is he actually hurt or are they setting him aside to avoid injury.

Bathea and Boldin would be good people to trade too. Go into full trade tank mode

I can't imagine they would get much for Davis now. A low round draft pick for Baalke to draft another project/injury stash

6th rounder was the best it would've netted them after his 13 TD season? I'm calling BS on that.

If somebody asked for your best guess, what do you believe they could have got for him? What about today?

John Bostic and Jared Allen were both traded for a 6th rounder. Matt Cassel was traded for a '17 5th rounder.
Jeremiah frikin Sirles was just traded for a 6th rounder.
You're telling me that Vernon Davis, 28 years old, fresh off of a 13 TD, 800+ yards season (at 16+ YPC) would barely fetch a 6th rounder?
Come on Pozz.

This is great news. It tells me that management realizes they have ***ked everything up, and they need to rebuild.

...At least I hope that's what it means.
If I were Green Bay, I'd try to get
Vernon.
Rodgers +
Vernon would be scary IMO.
Actually, Denver could use him too. Especially now that
Manning is struggling to throw downfield.

Jay Glazer said it. I didn't.

Maybe the Falcons would bite? playoff push?
or hell, try the Jets too... their not exactly sold on TE there either... they seem likely to overpay

I know. I'm saying Glazer's report has BS written all over it.

Jason La Canfora is reporting that teams are interested in Davis and Cook.
He's obviously not in the plans going forward so I say trade him and get what you can for him.
