But when Bethea was out we were still managing to hold up on defense. What's the word on his and Tartt's injury as of now anyways? We lacked a lot of hustle on defense in the first half. We had their RBs either behind the LOS or at the line of scrimmage and they were consistently breaking tackles, also the defense wasn't really swarming to the ball.

I posted this in the game thread. I'll say it again. After the game it looked like not one player was pissed for having lost to a division rival on a must win game with a short week that hurts Seattle while we are at home.

Culture change...

Heard Bellicheck interviewed last week.

He said one of the big things he always emphasizes is tackling, which he tries to practice as much as possible.

This team used to be known for great tackling, limiting YAC.

No more.

Oh I heard Kap saying he's not going to force the ball into tight windows, risk turnovers. Of course that's what Cam Newton did last week, just threw fast balls in there to produce one clutch pass gain after another.

As the team was gradually falling further behind, he was gun shy? Great you didn't throw an interception but you lost handily.

That has to be coaching telling him not to take risks.

Slow fat weak defensive line play. Center to the right on the offensive line can't block a peewee pass rush. Vernon Davis, Boldin, and Bush slow as molasses in winter. A coaching staff that makes no adjustments and what they do doesn't make any sense. A qb who is being reduced to David Carr every game. A problem caliber rb forced to play on an injured foot risking much bigger injuries. A team that has a ton of players who were injured in college and had to miss a year and they never fully recovered. Not adjusting personnel to try I prove the team.

This team is a mess from top to bottom. Every team employee is included.

Matt Maiocco said he saw Jed head for the exits looking "shell shocked" instead of going to the locker room.

Kawakami said John York and Baalke were in the locker room after the game.

Hyde has a stress fracture in his foot. They should not be risking his future with meaningless games going forward.

They need to prep Mike Davis and get another RB on the roster.

I can't imagine why he would be shell shocked.

The offense sucked last year so the solution was to promote the defensive line coach to head coach and the QB coach who was an integral part of said sucky offense to OC.

Why would you be shocked that the offense still sucks and again embarrassed by the Seahawks on prime time TV again?

Maiocco is reporting that the higher ups aren't happy and something big COULD happen.

I believe it when I see it... Even though the inexcusable happened beforehand with the dismissal of Harbaugh, I really doubt that York or Baalke is going to do something...

It's too early for them in the season to admit defeat and they were WRONG!
They'll never admit they were WRONG!
You have a better chance of Kaepernick scanning the field than seeing Baalke or someone out the door....

FA signings & draft picks.... that's his personnel led by HIS (&York) Head Coach...

While I think Trent was high on Tomsula I believe his guy was Gase and it seemed like he had the deal done until York had to make sure Tomsula wasn't going anywhere. Baalke had the add the condition of having Tomsula as DC and when Gase refused Tomsula was the next man up and York the guy he wanted all along.

I have to agree with Kawakami's recent article in that the fact that Kap was Harbaugh's QB and Tomsula was York's coach might be the only thing that saves Baalke from getting himself fired after this season. I still think his seat is going to be plenty hot since the personnel is completely on him and despite all the picks it's a pretty ho hum roster.

He sounds like a broken record at this point and it's the same thing he regurgitates after every loss.

Whenever I see coaches do this it's a sign they don't know what to do.

People watching on TV could see where the breakdowns were, which players weren't trying, etc.

Stephen A. Smith says 49ers fans were robbed by Jed York and Trent Baalke. In terms of competitiveness, the team last year was 10 times better than the team this year. About 3 minutes in:

I'm waiting for a higher percentage of people with reasonable suggestions. Again, I'm not talking about you, the original poster, about this. I feel the need to say that often. I'm just saying that as somebody who loves to talk football and puts a lot of time into it, which again I know is not something a lot of people can do with their schedules, I still wish a higher percentage of fans of all teams could present reasonable names/suggestions/replacements for many of these positions. Yes, I know that's not a requirement of a football fan. It would just be more fun if that was something that could happen with a lot of people.

Again. A number of names could be a whole lot better, but as many problems as I have had with the guy, they could do SO much worse than him, too. Especially if Gamble is not going to be the lead man, outside of a search firm, in the process either IMO.

Now, obviously you don't keep a man solely just because you may not be able to do better, but I'm just pointing out that with this current stable of men in the fold it could and might get so much worse than what they currently have on the personnel side. That's the scary part.

But again, not that you don't make a move just because you might not get it right. Just saying these football guys, at least to me, are in an awful spot to have to find somebody that can turn organizations around and keep them going. I highly advise everybody to take some time and look what I believe is a lack of quality football men, coaches and personnel, that are currently in the league. Also, so many of the quality ones are reportedly so incredibly difficult to get into the fold as well. It's so dang difficult these days.

Thankfully, I think the 49ers have a gem of a man in the fold (Tom Gamble) who, if wanting and able, could be an extremely nice option to turn to if he can take over a large portion of the football side and put his imprint on the team the way he potentially could.

Honestly Pozz I haven't been able to look at a lot FO names lately so I'll defer to you for that at this point. Just so I can gauge what you think might be a good lead man, what makes Tom Gamble such a good candidate?

Again, not saying he's not, but just wondering about your parameters as to what would make a good FO lead.
