Jared Goff

Post#1 » by Pattersonca65 » Tue Dec 29, 2015 10:49 pm

Today in the Armed Forces Bowl his numbers 25-37 for 467 yards and 6 tds. Broke Aaron Rodgers record. How much did his stock just rise?

Hopefully into the top 2 where he cannot be taken by the 49ers. Much rather have Cook or Bosa, assuming 1 is still on the board.

Who would you rather have in their prime, J.J. Watt or Drew Brees?

This performance had zero or very minimal affect toward his stock. He played against a very weak vanilla defense today. He's still the best QB in the draft.

He looked good when there was no pass rush or good safety to worry about. I would not mind if he was our qb, but the same could be said for Lynch, Cook, or Kaepernick.

With the firing of Chip Kelley the Eagles probably will return to a normal offensive system. Kaepernick could have been traded there. Now the Eagles will most likely be drafting a qb. If they make us a sweet deal for our pick I'd be all for it and roll with Kaepernick. Getting some more early picks would allow us to get a pass rush and pass rush protection

The way the Niners are built now as the team stands I'd rather have JJ Watt and its not even close. With a healthy Hyde to be the power run game. A legit pass rusher like JJ Watt, Armstead steadily improving Ian Williams is Solid at DT, Lynch on the outside Eli Looking Better and Trying Tank outside , The secondary has been decent with no pass rush.. With a Pass rush they'd be close to elite. We could be a playoff contender again with Gabbert or Kaep and shoring up the Oline. For Brees to have the same effect you also need to shore up the oline, improve the receivers and find a te that doesn't have hands of stone. Had you said Aaron Rodgers or JJ Watt itd be harder to call Rodgers was able to carry the pack with a bad oline and a porous defense.

Watt can be avoided if your scheme really empathizes not allowing Watt to make plays. Brees touches the ball every offensive snap, so I would take Brees over him.

Exactly.

Edge rusher is important but not as important as a QB.

And I think that Watt's contract will become an albatross for the Texans, esp. if they ever get a franchise QB who's going to command a big deal. Then they'll have to cut other starters.

Generational QB prospect. Trade up for him, if we need to.

It looks like we might have to trade up to get Jared Goff or Lynch. Or draft Cook or go with Kaepernick or Gabbert next year.

My pessimistic prediction is we are going to get Cardell Jones.

Would the Browns or Chargers winning this week help us if we lose? Or do they have all tiebreakers on us?

Maybe we can trade our #1, Tomsula, and Geep for Cleveland's No. 1? :)

Bad timing for Goff if he ends up in Cleveland.

Only would take Goff if we traded down. He's not worth a top 5/10 in this class. He has a slender frame and is streaky with his decision making. He takes big hits, but I'm not sure his body can handle it at the NFL level.

Gah let's hope we can either trade up or that the Cowboys and Chargers decide to either opt out or go FA (Manziel to Dallas). We still have the problem of Clevelend picking at 1, I think they are certainly going after a QB, I'm hoping they either go Lynch or FA. RG3 and Kaep might be intriguing options.

The only team I see taking a QB ahead of the 9ers is the Browns and the teams that draft the 9ers that could trade up are the Saints at 11 if the move on from Brees and the Eagles at 12 and considering the cost it would take to move up from that far I doubt they would.

Just don't see the Chargers or Cowboys using that high of a selection to develop a guy for a couple of years. The Cowboys especially since the Jones wants to win now and I don't see him passing on an impact player that can contribute now for a guy that might not contribute till 3 or more years.

Teams in that position will pick a QB later in the draft to develop and be a quality backup or heir apparent.
