DBs BATTLE

Now that that we have Brock, Acker, Johnson, Reaser, Cromartie, and plus the 3 we just drafted. Thats makes 8 corners. How do some of you guys see this competition unfolding? I honestly was happy with the corners that we already had, we just needed to upgrade the pass rush, which we did with Bucker and Blair. Plus Eli Harold and Arik Armstead are expected to take the next step in their developments. So just interested in what some of you think about the surplus of corners. Who is the odd man out?

Should we consider Ward a CB too?

I wouldn't mind if Brock somehow got cut—he's less than great, not physical (See: Rawls), and always injured. But he'll make the team so that doesn't matter.

I'm done with Acker

Johnson has had worthwhile glimpses—keep him

Reaser I feel can be the best of the group.

Cromartie has definitely improved, he's should battle it out with the rooks

Redmond can start on the PUP

End result: Johnson, Reaser, Ward, Brock, (Rookie or Cromartie)

I guess with Ward moving to safety I didnt include him. Brock was our best CB last year, and he was relatively injury free. Acker, had 3 picks a year ago, you think he's that bad? I like Johnson a lot and want to see him start honestly. Reaser hasnt had much PT.

In the 3 games that Johnson started last year, he had 5 passes defensed. Acker had 8 in 13 games, and Brock had 11. So I am rooting for Johnson.

Same here. Love me some Johnson!

I totally didn't see the Rashard Robinson pick coming, but he's an intriguing gamble. However, I've been talking up Redmond all offseason, so I gotta root for him. Robinson doesn't strike me as a slot guy, but that wouldn't matter if he ever cracked the top 3; they'd probably just move someone else inside.

I thought we might see Bethea get traded during the draft and officially move Ward to safety. That could still happen, but as of right now Ward is kind of in an in-between space. Particularly as we just picked up Reid's fifth-year option.

Didn't Brock's hammy nag him all season and he was gone majority of the season before that.

The hammy issue was in 2014. Not sure about last year. He played and started 13 games last year.

No way Redmond and Robinson don't make the team after where they were drafted. I could see baalke pulling the old hangnail injury on one or both of these guys due to the fact one is coming off an ACL injury and the other didn't play last year.

After them its really up in the air between Brock, Ward, Johnson, Reaser, Acker, Cromartie, Davis and Iworah

Brock and ward seem to be locks for sure. (is Brock expendable?)

Also who knows ifBethea rumors are true and maybe they ship him our? Taking ward out of this equation?

Johnson, Reaser and Acker all showed some good things last year but never anything that really stuck out.

Cromartie played solid as well and could very competitive in this battle.

Davis is Cut

Iworah to practice squad.

Early prediction: Ward, Brock, Robinson, Redmond, Johnson, Reaser

I feel like we could make a post about every position this year.

lots of good battles in each position.
