Just gotta wonder why some of these guys are even on the list. Drew Bledsoe? Seriously?

The most ridiculous of the QB semifinalists is Doug Flutie. The guy had 3 good seasons. At least Bledsoe is 12th all time in yards. Flutie is 144th, which is ahead of Joey Harrington by only 22 yards. He had some memorable wins, but hall of fame?

This'll be an interesting year for Owens now that Harrison is in. Many writers were not going to be put Owens in any sooner than Harrison. Harrison was inducted last year.
Also, many of the WRs who also had to wait have been thrown in in the past several classes (Cris Carter, Andre Reed, Tim Brown, Harrison).
Furthermore, take a peak at the remaining WRs he's up against for all the arguments there will be that you can't have X number of WRs in the same class. He's up against Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, and Hines Ward.
It will be an interesting test to see if writers feel like Holt and Bruce should go in in the same year. I'd be quite surprised if Owens had to wait longer than Ward (if he ever makes it) unless there's that strong of a group out there that feels like Owens should continue to be penalized for the off the field stuff that would often spill onto the field for him...or any other reason.
Since they go alphabetically, if they get to the B's and Bruce isn't called, Owens should start to feel decent. If they get to the H's and Holt isn't called, I would almost begin to feel like Owens should be a lock for this class UNLESS these arguments of the off the field stuff spilling to the on the field stuff are a bit more widespread than I think.
Finally, for all the talk that it was shocking Owens didn't get in in his first year of eligibility. Many are often surprised that only FIVE receivers have EVER gotten in in their first year of eligibility: Raymond Berry (1973), Lance Alworth (1978), Paul Warfield (1983), Steve Largent (1995) and Jerry Rice (2010).

Idk if Owens should get in his first year... that's perplexing to me unless the class itself isn't too stack up itself.
