The only question left is do the Niners hold them under 40

Go ahead and pull gabbert. He is terrible. But just remember kap got benched... For gabbert. Won't be any magic solution with the choices. Interesting to see if they'll yank him next game and then if it will be kaptard or ponder.

Maybe I am a masochist but I wouldn't mind seeing Ponder get a shot see what he can do. We have seen Kaep and Gabbert... what can it hurt. The Niners are the worst team in football its not like they are going to get any worse for it.

Nothing would surprise me. If kap gets hurt its expensive.

The scariest part about this for the immediate future hasn't even been discussed on here really yet I don't think. In prior weeks it was more than obvious that there were open 49ers receivers all over the field but they were being missed consistently by the QB.

I have yet to find one person today who has said the 49ers have been able to free up any of their options with any kind of consistency.

The Seahawks have had good coverage most of the days there have been a few openings that a QB could take advantage of if he had the confidence to wing it in. But like Kaep Gabbeert seems to only throw to wide open receivers.

Hey but the 49ers have a lot of cap room!

If ponder plays its because baalke is holding kap hostage. Wouldn't think he'd want to stick his nose in on that after this type of game though while looking up at the blade.

Very small bright spot: the OL in general has done pretty well in pass protection. Less so as the game has gone on, not surprisingly, but on the whole, they've done better than expected in Seattle.

No Pozz I live in Las Vegas.. I remember Ponder from his years in Minny. But I still would like to see Ponder get a shot in Kellys offense I think he could be very Nick Foles like... Besides If Kaep gets hurt the Niners could end up on the hook for his salary next year too. My curiosity is more born of what can it hurt to give Ponder a shot then me having the illusion that Ponder could be a good qb.

Although I will admit to being wrong because when Ponder was drafted I thought he would be a solid potential pro bowl quarterback.

My ONLY problem with that premise is thinking Ponder could be Foles-like. I don't see it at all. Ponder is too much like another Gabbert to me. You'd just be trading one set of problems for another. I wouldn't even have used a draft pick, any draft pick, on Ponder. Said it before he was drafted.

But it's like I've been saying all afternoon. I'm not going to get on somebody for preferring one set of problems for the same amount of other problems.

I agree crimson the one bright spot this season has been the offensive line. They haven't helped much in the run game but it has seemed that like the days Alex Kaep and now Gabbert everyone plays a lot of man and stack the box daring the Niners to beat them with the pass.

I'd give Kap a shot first but I wouldn't hesitate to give Ponder a shot if Kap stinks up the joint as well.

For me personally the season is lost so I would rather just try something else instead of continuing to go on with something we all know isn't working.

You really have nothing to lose and more to gain. Gabbert sucks and we lose games so at worst Kap sucks and we lose games. At the very least we could get a top 3 draft pick and be in line for one of the top QBs or Garrett.
