Never even liked him in college.

So the idea is to trade the better QB away + gift a 3rd while doing so?

Kaep alone would be overpaying for Bortles
a 3rd by itself would be overpaying for Bortles

Kaep AND a third would be robbery.

If Kaep voids his contract at the end of the year as reports say he is going to do...how do you trade him? As for would I trade for Bortles..no. Well maybe Mike Davis for Bortles..There aren't really any qbs out there that could be available next season Id trade for or sign. Romo is one hit from a nursing home, Fitzpatrick and Cutler are proof yes it can get worse than Kaep. Garrapolo someone will way overpay for. Id play Ponder the last few games that way in the off-season I could decide Gabbert or Ponder to be the backup for the rookie the Niners draft.

Bortles has confidence issues. I thought he played well against the Vikings over the weekend and there's still much untapped potential in the tank.

Never liked Bortles, even in college.
