#2 Pick

No Garrett as I'm assuming the Browns will take him and if they don't I assume most here would want him taken if he's on the board anyways.

#2 will be one of the most interesting picks in the draft as there are a few different ways it could go.

Would love Allen but due to stupidity imo we can't... Without additional changes.

Foster would be someone but a bit later thus leading to my anticipated route, trade. Trade back within the top ten, gain some picks now or future n draft him or fournette, Williams, best OL available etc...

Garret

Mitch

Trade

In that order.

Unless Cleveland reaches for one of the QB's or trades the pick to another team who does, leaving Garret available. Trade #2. None of these QB's are worth reaching for, and the roster is peppered with holes throughout.

Not when Garrett goes number 1, QBs suck and Allen is blocked.

Borrowed from Twitter:
29 of Derek Barnett's 33 career sacks came in SEC play.

16 of Myles Garrett's 32.5 sacks came against Lamar, Rice, UTSA, Nevada & LAMonroe.

Barnett just broke Reggie White's sack record at UT. He's the real deal Holyfield.

I mean, I guess if you think the QBs are terrible I see your point, but still. :nonono:

Still think Tyler Rogers is the best QB if he declares.

Barnett or Williams would both be decent. Barnett impressess me more because Williams does have Johnathon Allen in front of him like Justin Smith and Aldon Smith. I believe Trubisky is hands down the best qb in the draft but imo not a single qb in the draft is worth number 2.

The thing about Barnett is he has a nonstop motor and always produced even when offenses focused on him. He also has shown ability to cover downfield.

Garrett or trade out to pick up another pick. I really hope that one of the QB's become a too target.

Also, his make-up, his willingness to listen to those around him, and his grasp on the TYPE and the amount of work he puts in, in addition to being a good student (went to a private high school and excelled) and citizen off the field is about as good as it gets.

His make up reminds me of a young Patrick Willis/Luke Kuechly/Takeo Spikes. He just gets IT. He's actually a couple ticks more mature than Bowman was when he came out but he's similar to him, too, as far as coming into his own as a vocal leader. He's the type that I think that would/could be successful in whatever he is serious about doing off the field. He'll sell very well when he starts to meet a lot of the scouting world at the combine/pro days in one-on-one settings IMO.

When it comes to the QBs the question if they are worth a #2 needs to be thrown out.

The question that needs to asked by the new GM and coaching staff is how likely is it that we can develop this guy into a franchise QB. If they feel confident they can you take him regardless of the spot your drafting.

With the college game continuing to separate itself from the pro game the reality is that the Andrew Lucks are going to be rare in drafts. You're going to need to gamble more than you would like too and there is going to be a bigger need to not throw a guy out there as a day 1 starter but bench and develop him for at least a season.

Though with all that said the organization needs to be extremely careful that they aren't talking themselves into a guy because of a desperate need. Can't look at some of the red flags and think you can probably/hope to fix them.

The can we develop this guy question can be asked about any prospect in any round. The QB bust factor is very high, but that doesn't mean that you can't find guys later in the draft. Which is why its always a good idea to have a developmental QB on the roster, even if you have a franchise guy already in place, see NE Patriots. Baalke didn't buy into that strategy, which is just one of the many mistakes he made.

You even alluded to it in your last paragraph, QB's artificially get pushed up draft boards simply because they are QB's. Its the reason why Christian Ponder, EJ Manuel, JP Losman, etc get WAYYY overdrafted. You absolutely can't fall into that trap, or else you are in the same situation 3 years later on that perpetual treadmill.

If the new regime legit feels either of Trubisky or Kizer or someone else is the guy, thats one thing but you can't let the OMG we need a QB desperation influence how you draft. These QB's in the draft all have glaring flaws. This team needs IMMENSELY more than a QB.

Its not often you get a top 3 draft pick, so you must maximize the potential value and impact it can provide. You don't want a boom or bust type @ #2 overall, you should be getting elite talent.

Sorry I stick to evaluations until they're proven wrong. 54 scattered carries doesn't mean anything me.
