Anytime you're watching TV, listening to the radio, watchng a video online, etc., coming from one or multiple people and they start their discussion or whatever with, "How many players can you name on (insert team name here)," in reference to the lack of a talent said team has.

Just shut the TV off, turn down the dial, or X out of the box online if anybody ever does that when talking about a team. It's lazy. If you can't name several players on every single team then chances are high you aren't very good at what you do or you are cheating folks at home of good discussion IMO.

If your point is that team X doesn't have very much talent and there aren't a lot of guys who are building block type players and an infusion of talent is needed by them in order to compete, say that instead. That's fine. I have no problem with that. I just can't stand it when somebody proves they aren't connected to a sport because they think it's OK that they can't name multiple players on every team.

End of rant.

Slightly piggy back, reading your post reminds me of maybe 8 years ago, at the NBA draft, Brook lopez was selected by NJ(then) and the camera caught him talking to his agent(after the announcement) asking the name of the coach of the team....

LOL.... oh that brook.

I feel like I'm the only one that's a huge fan of Kizer. I don't understand how anyone can take guys like Watson or Mahomes over him.

Christian McCaffrey - RB - Cardinal

An NFL GM told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey "had the best combine workout I've seen. Ever."

McCaffrey has a great collection of tape, but it took him proving his other-worldly athleticism at the Combine for the NFL to start viewing him like an elite prospect. Profootballtalk has pegged his projection range anywhere from No. 5-15.

Well, let's see what happens, but obviously it's awfully likely. I just don't feel good about the Niners if they end up taking a guy at #2. I really don't want Fournette, and Adams seems pretty redundant with Reid; I don't think he fits the single-high spot particularly well. Let's hope there really is some kind of market for that spot.

I like Kizer a lot. If developed right, in 3 years time we'll agree that he was the best QB in this class. Here's my QB rankings that I had posted in another thread:

Quarterback
1.) Mitchell Trubisky
2.) Deshone Kizer
3.) Deshawn Watson
4.) Davis Webb
5.) Patrick Mahommes

What's the problem here?

We'll end up with Trubisky or Thomas (and then hopefully Kizer). 8-) 8-) 8-)

I just can't get excited about Thomas. He's too redundant with what we already have. I don't have strong feelings about the QBs - or really any players this year; way behind even where I usually am in terms of scouting players, which is not great at the best of times - but Kizer scares me. Though if he can sit for a year or two, maybe Shanahan can get a real steal out of him.

John Ross - WR - Huskies

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that some teams believe that Washington WR John Ross may slip to the second round due to health concerns.

Per Rap Sheet, "There are a handful of boards [Ross] is off, sources say. Other teams wonder if he'll fall into the late-first round or early second round because of his injury history." The 5-foot-11, 188-pound speedster has undergone surgeries on both knees due to a torn miniscus and a torn ACL and also underwent shoulder surgery following the Combine last month. One person close to Ross' camp told Rapoport that "there is nothing new that has showed up" during the process, though that might not prevent a potential slip down.

Mitchell Trubisky - QB - Player

The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot reports the Browns have been "working the phones" trying to trade up from No. 12 overall to draft Mitchell Trubisky.

Cabot, via multiple league sources, reports the Browns will take Myles Garrett with the No. 1 overall pick and then focus their attention on coming up from No. 12 to land Trubisky. It'll be easier said than done, but Cleveland has plenty of draft ammo to pull it off if they want. Cabot reports talks will get going if Trubisky falls into the pick Nos. 5-6 range of the first round. The 49ers, Bears, and even the Jaguars are options to take Trubisky at Nos. 2-4 when Cleveland passes at No. 1.

3 of them outside the top 10 so with that many teams after the pick it should be a pretty big haul and at this point I'd be surprised if the 9ers pick at #2.

O.J. Howard - TE - Player

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports the Jets could select Alabama TE O.J. Howard at No. 6 overall.

Widely considered the best player in an unusually deep tight end class, Howard is a freak athlete at 6-foot-6, 251 pounds. The Jets haven't had a proper tight end for years, and lack weapons on offense. Were Howard to actually come off the board at No. 6, he would be the first tight end to go in the top six since Vernon Davis in 2006.

Cleveland's 2018 first would be ideal. I'm projecting that they'll be picking in the top 5 again next year.

Good luck with that :) I'll be on the other ship with my expectations. Been wrong before. Maybe I'll be wrong again.

Patrick Mahomes - QB - Player

The Post-Standard reports Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes is expected to go in the top 10.

Per reporter Matthew Fairburn, the Chiefs are "known to love" Mahomes, and are considering a trade up. The top 10 isn't lacking for quarterback-needy teams, including the team Fairburn covers, the Bills, at No. 10. Although this is considered a relatively poor quarterback class, teams appear prepared to go as crazy as usual pursuing football's most important position.

Pat Mahomes - QB - Red Raiders

Bills beat writer Matthew Fairburn reports that "those around the league expect Texas Tech QB [Pat] Mathomes to go top-10."

Fairburn additionally reports that the Chiefs "have entertained" a potential trade up from No. 27 in order to obtain Mahomes' services, as they are "known to love him." A top-10 slot would be even higher than that floated by the gunslinger's own agent, as Leigh Steinberg said earlier this week that the Cardinals at No. 13 would be his client's probable ceiling. A report on NFL Network cited a source close to Mahomes late on Thursday as saying that the quarterback would likely be going to either the Chiefs, Texans or Cardinals.
