2017 Training Camp

Post#1 » by Pattersonca65 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 5:44 pm

Just got done reading many of the training camp reports. Looks like the Dline is playing well or the oline is poor. Armstead is down to 175 pounds, lowest since high school, and looks good. The 49er staff blew it last year by letting him play on that bad shoulder when it was clear it was a big issue. They should have shut him down earlier and had the surgery. Hoyer has played ok so far.

Goodwin has been getting a lot of buzz so I'm wondering how much of that will translate onto the field during the season.

We've seen plenty of preseason superstars but I'd like to think that Shanahan will get more out of him than Buffalo did.

He had injury issues in Buffalo. Just like some of our own players, hope it isn't recurring here. Supposedly, he is going to run more routes here than he did in Buffalo.

It's nice to hear Armstead and Lynch are both having good camps so far.

Lynch especially since the guy has talent but he just hasn't worked hard to reach his potential.

49ers’ Hyde speaking softly, responding to challenge

http://www.sfgate.com/49ers/article/49ers-Hyde-speaking-softly-responding-to-11721656.php

During the offseason, Hyde went to Shanahan and asked why he wasn’t part of a special-teams unit, which is grunt work not done by starting NFL running backs. Hyde noted that Hightower was on special teams.

“Kyle came up and said how cool is this: ‘Carlos asked why he wasn’t on some of the special teams like Tim was,’” Lynch said. “That’s what we’re talking about when we say we believe that competition brings out the best in everyone.”

.....because you (should) make this thing (offense) go.

Fortunately it's sounding like it's nothing serious and he'll probably be back after a couple of days.

Looks like Bruce Ellington career with the 49ers is over. Per a report, the team is about to release him,

What career?

Has he even had 10 total touches in his 3-4 seasons? I'm talking about regular season, not preseason, when he usually gets injured and isn't available during the regular season.

Return to San Francisco 49ers
