The Denver Broncos had allowed 351 rushing yards all year.

You want to make me sad? Bring up run D numbers like that.

Don't worry, we'll just spend another top pick on the D line again

I hated the Saleh hiring when we made it and my mind hasn’t changed any since then

Saleh wasn't Shanahan's top choice and I don't think he'll have a long leash.

I doubt he would be fired after this season but I don't see it likely he'll make it beyond year 2.

I don't think we have a single positional group on D that I consider good. Hard to grade Saleh but I know a guy like Fangio gets more out of guys.

Even if he became available, Shanahan wouldn't want to and couldn't get Fangio IMO. I feel very firm about that. I don't know if Lynch could get a talk with him but I feel pretty confident Lynch wouldn't even want to speak to him even if he could.

But according to the infinite wisdom of some on this board, we have building blocks in our terrible secondary......

Thomas again tackles the guy without the ball!!!

Seriously they should make this a stat so he can be the league leader in something.

Tartt and Ward continue to get abused. That time they were abused on the same play by the same person

It depends on what you mean by building blocks. I'm not married to anybody as a starter at corner unless you let me have Ward as a corner in my preferred kind of defense (schematically it looks nothing like a Lynch/Shanahan historical defense).

At safety. I think Reid is somebody you try and build around if the off the field mind games stuff doesn't scare you and you aren't afraid of him breaking down AND you know what you're getting yourself into for the money he's likely going to get. I'll trying building up Tartt, or with Tartt, even though I don't love ever love him as a leader type that's going to pull guys in and consistently keep them right.

Witherspoon I'd work with again just because he's on the roster already and I said all along he has something you can try and work with. He wouldn't have an overly long leash with me, however.

Colbert is fine if kept as a back end project guy but I could easily find somebody I'd rather have for the project role instead.

Rashard Robinson is the tricky one. His make up has always scared me, as has his body, but he's got a bunch of talent and deserves a longer leash than many unless you can't get over the maturity stuff. If I felt this way yet and it was time to extend him for FA money given his track record or let him go, I'd probably rather let him go just because above all else the make up scares me more than anything but it wouldn't stun me if the right coach got something half decent and hit close to his ceiling either. He's the trickiest one to decide on IMO.

Everybody else can be allowed to look for work elsewhere.
