Says he's been trying to keep a low profile.

Talks about what he's been doing since he left the 49ers.

No surprise that he comes across as a real thoughtful guy on many topics.

I didn't take an issue with Borland retiring because that's his choice but I took issue with him already believing football wasn't for him even before being drafted.

Would he have been drafted in the 3rd round if teams knew he had doubts about playing due to long-term health concerns? Doubtful which means he probably wasn't honest about his desire about playing football and if you're going put yourself in the draft than teams investing a draft pick are trusting that you're committed to playing.

As much as I like Borland that year, immediately after the draft I did say that I would have preferred we selected Telvin Smith instead. I think Telvin was a 5th or 6th round pick? It would be bad had we double dip by drafting both of them.

Yep, which is why I don’t like him at all.
