Heat problem at Levi's

Saw an interview with Al Guido explaining why they can't or won't address the complaints about the heat in the one side of Levi's which is in direct sunlight in early season home games on Sunday afternoons.

People who bought season tickets for those seats are just going to have to suck it up, I guess.

A retractable roof might have been worth designing into the stadium from the beginning. Not just for the heat, which they obviously didn't anticipate at all, but in late January and early February when rain could be an issue. A roof might have gotten the stadium into more chances to host the Super Bowl, because the NFL owners and big shots wouldn't tolerate any chance of rain for the SB.

It'll be an issue for them once something fatal happens......

very odd design flaw from such a tremendous investment

Someone claimed on another forum that the design for Levi's is the same one they'd planned to use to build in SF, where heat wouldn't be as much of a problem.

When they decided to build on the Santa Clara site, they didn't make the adjustment in the design.

If nothing else they could have rotated the stadium so that one side wouldn't be in direct sunlight. But then one end of the field would always face into the sun, which was a distinct thing at Candlestick.

Garbage stadium all around. What a massive fail by this organization. Pales in comparison to newer projects like the Cowboys' and Vikings'.

Can't even build new stadiums right.
