Does Saleh Get Replaced This Offseason?

Are the 49ers going to fire Saleh this offseason? If so, who could the 49ers get to replace him?

Yes, I don't see Harbaugh as someone at this stage in his career is willing to step back into a coordinator role.

Jackson wasn't "the" problem in Cleveland, but he still sucked.

Our offense can move the ball at willbut our defense can’t stop anyone.

Typically I’d say yes he gets let go but our roster on both offense and defense is so bad that I don’t know if he’s entirely to blame.

Sign Ansah and draft Bosa. Hire an experienced known teacher of DBs and give Saleh one last shot.

Has he ever called defensive plays before? He was always a special teams or DB’s guy, to my knowledge

No he has not. Not at the NFL level anyway. He would never take a demotion anyway,

It's up for debate how much work John has done with DBs over the years as well in regards to Philadelphia. The organization didn't seriously start to consider him to work with them until he asked them to attend those meetings because he thought it would help his chances to get head coaching interviews someday. Prior to that he had only 1-2 seasons of coaching them (Morehead State in 1988 and Indiana in 1997 in a part-time role like in the NFL).

With all of that said, true hands on, day in and day out experience leading one room isn't something I definitely think is necessary to succeed in the NFL. Some guys have shown you can have some pretty interesting and unconventional ways of going about it before taking on a coordinating role in the NFL of course. John Harbaugh has the make up and comes off as one of those guys that might be able to transition well into something new where a lot of guys might drown if given that big of a piece of a pie somewhere. The scariest part about it wouldn't be the Monday to Saturday stuff. I think he could potentially be fantastic there. It might be the transition into a game caller and adjuster on Sundays part that would/could be the biggest adjustment and you might need to be patient with him there.

I love John Harbaugh. He's one of my favorite HEAD coaches in the NFL. I have more respect for his mind than most people I run in to these days. I just rarely ever consider him for anything other than a HC candidate because that's what he is to me and I feel like he'll be that for a while whether it's with Baltimore or someone else. Maybe I'll end up proving to be incorrect on that but that's a big reason why he's never one of the first ones out of my mouth to join someone's staff in a different role. But if he were to be considered for something other than that, that's the type of stuff I would bring up first.

He would be ahead of a TON of guys on my list if I thought they could get him for almost anything he'd want to do but until I'm wrong about him as head man I'm not going to put too much brain power into it.

Jim Harbaugh doesn't have the coordinator experience either. I just don't see John H even trying that. After a super bowl and his career in Baltimore I don't see him considering anything less than a HC job as I would any other coach with a similar track record. I expect he be getting plenty of HC opportunities in the near future

If I wanted to break into Saleh's house and steal all his stuff with him standing right there, all I'd have to do is run a screen pass, and nobody would lay a hand on me.

Still want Saleh gone! Man, screw this team. I love making swift judgements with lack of context

Still want him gone - yes, yes I do.

Do I want him gone and for John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan to make the next hire? No, no I don't.

Would LOVE to sit down with him (Saleh) for SEVERAL hours and have a beer, though. Heck of a great listen to. Just dont' subscribe to his brand of historical football. That's all.

Hope I'm wrong in the areas where it pertains. I'd love to be.

Mike Lombardi was saying the Seattle Cover 3 defense wasn't working on any of the teams whose defenses were being run by former Carroll assistants, such as Atlanta, Jacksonville, San Diego.

Well he didn't cite Saleh. You can't say it's not working, at least so far.

Even if they got rid of Saleh, have the 49ers built the roster to run the Seattle scheme, so that switching wouldn't be easy?

One thing that's overlooked is the addition of Joe Woods and Kris Kocurek two of the better position coaches in the league and I think that's been an underrated help to the defense this year.

Ross Tucker says Saleh will probably get a HC job, because of him celebrating on the sidelines yesterday.

Certainly will get interviews if the defense holds up throughout the season.
