TERRY MCLAURIN
WR, WASHINGTON REDSKINS

Terry McLaurin caught 4-of-6 targets for 39 yards in the Redskins' Week 8 loss to the Vikings.

It was an immensely frustrating evening for the third-round rookie, who was consistently abusing Xavier Rhodes but getting little reward for it in the box score. McLaurin drew a 19-yard DPI on his veteran adversary. Any chance McLaurin had at a bigger night went down the tubes early in the third quarter, where Case Keenum was ruled out with a concussion. McLaurin drew all of one look after the break. Completely wide open in the red zone, he was air mailed by Dwayne Haskins for an interception. Regardless of who is under center for Week 9, McLaurin will be a tough-sell WR2 for the Redskins' Buffalo road trip.

DWAYNE HASKINS
QB, WASHINGTON REDSKINS

Forced on in relief of Case Keenum (concussion), Dwayne Haskins completed 3-of-5 passes for 33 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception in the Redskins' Week 8 loss to the Vikings.

Haskins played the entire second half, but you wouldn't guess it from his statline. A deer in headlights, Haskins looked like he had zero shot at sustaining drives, and the Redskins called plays accordingly. One of the few times Haskins cut it loose, he immediately tossed a red zone interception. The air mail to a wide open Terry McLaurin came just two plays after the Redskins pulled off a stirring fourth down stop. It's easy to see why the coaching staff has been completely against starting the No. 15 overall pick. Haskins will be in a desperate situation if Keenum can't get cleared for next week's Bills road trip.

DEEBO SAMUEL
WR, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

Deebo Samuel (groin) is expected to return for Week 8 against the Panthers.

The news comes as Dante Pettis (knee) was added to the injury report. Samuel was injured in Week 6 and missed Week 7. Just as he returns, Emmanuel Sanders joins the Niners' receiver corps. Samuel is a poor WR5.

JOSH JACOBS
RB, OAKLAND RAIDERS

Speaking Thursday, Josh Jacobs (shoulder) said he could suit up for Week 8 against the Texans without practicing.

"That's the goal," Jacobs said after another DNP on Thursday. That's typically a privilege reserved for veterans, but the Raiders have essentially no path to victory without their stud rookie runner. Working in Jacobs' favor is the fact that he played through the issue against the Packers last Sunday. Jacobs could end up a game-time call for the Raiders' 4:25 PM ET game.

DREW LOCK
QB, DENVER BRONCOS

Broncos QB Drew Lock (thumb, injured reserve) resumed practicing on Tuesday.

The move opens Lock's three-week activation window. If he's not added to the 53-man roster by Dec. 3, his rookie season will end. We would fully expect Lock to be activated at some point in the next few weeks and make starts, though the Broncos spent the summer talking about him like a player who was nowhere close to being ready. With Joe Flacco on injured reserve, AAF-level talent Brandon Allen will make another start in Week 11.

JALEN HURD
WR, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

49ers WR Jalen Hurd (back, injured reserve) will not resume practicing this week.

That had been the Niners' tentative plan, but Hurd did not show the team what it wanted to see last week. Hurd will be eligible for activation in Week 13. That is not looking terribly likely for the receiver-desperate 49ers right now.

Tough one. Samuel has looked promising, but Brown may be developing into an impact receiver before our eyes. And his game is very similar to Deebo's. It's just the beginning of their careers, but at this point, it certainly looks like we took the wrong one.

Not to re-hash the Bosa / Q debates, but Q. Williams is starting to play at a very high level IMO.

Armstead not sucking came out of left field, so that was a nice gimme in lieu of drafting Q.

Not a rookie but the #30 pick of 2018 has just had seasons of 13 and 14 (and counting) sacks in his first two seasons.

DK Metcalf
WR, Seattle Seahawks

DK Metcalf caught 4-of-5 targets for 59 yards in the Seahawks' Divisional round loss to the Packers.

Metcalf's fun rookie season ends with a bit of a whimper. The No. 64 overall pick back in April, Metcalf produced just two 100-yard games in his first season, but he went for at least 60 yards and/or one touchdown 13 times. He was pretty consistently productive each week as a WR3 in fantasy, finishing the regular season with 58-900-7. Metcalf isn't perfect, but the things he does do well he does extremely well. You can't teach his size and speed at 6'4/230 with 4.33 wheels. He's impossible to cover for an entire game. He can win deep and in the red zone with his leaping ability. The sky is the limit for Metcalf with Russell Wilson throwing him the ball. Metcalf will get plenty of hype for a second-year leap headed into the 2020 season.

KYLER MURRAY
QB, ARIZONA CARDINALS

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray has been named the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Murray displayed fantasy-friendly dual-threat ability as a rookie, throwing for 3,722 yards and 20 touchdowns while adding 544 rushing yards and another four scores on the ground. He improved at avoiding pressure as the season went on, ultimately posting the second-longest average time from snap-to-sack among all QBs. Still, he'll need help from this supporting cast in order to make a leap in 2020. Larry Fitzgerald has to retire at some point (right?), and Christian Kirk was the only other consistently-reliable pass catcher in this offense last season. The Cardinals join the Rams, Dolphins and Jets as the only teams with fewer than $20 million 2020 dollars devoted to their offensive line.

NICK BOSA
DL, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

49ers DE Nick Bosa has been named the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Bosa is the third Ohio State player in the last four years to win this award. The 49ers defensive line boasts an embarrassment of riches when it comes to top-tier pass rushers. Each of DeForest Buckner (No. 10), Dee Ford (No. 3), Arik Armstead (No. 29) and Bosa (No. 6) received favorable rankings at their respective positions from PFF when it came to pass-rushing productivity this season. Still, Bosa was the clear leader of the group. The No. 2 overall pick from the 2019 NFL draft didn't waste anytime in establishing himself as one of the league's best pass rushers, as only Za'Darius Smith (93), Danielle Hunter (88), Cameron Jordan (83), Shaq Barrett (82) and T.J. Watt (81) finished the season with more pressures than Bosa (80).
