Perspective: The Cardinals showed signs of improvement last year, almost beat the 49ers in the second game, and added one of the best wide receivers in football.

49ers came into the game with injuries on the O-Line, no first string WRs on the field, Kittle injured, Coleman limited because of SCA, McKinnon back for his first game in 3 years, Sherman apparently hobbled...and yet, the 49ers barely lost this game. People need to settle down. Rome is not burning.

I don't know that there are that many overreactions. The problems we had in this game echoed problems we had coming out of last year. Garoppolo looked bad. Indecisive and inaccurate in crunch time, just like in the super bowl. I don't know that anyone is saying we need to bench him, but it's cause for some concern. And the D couldn't keep AZ from marching down the field, just as we saw repeatedly late in games last year. If we can't clean those things up, we aren't even going to make the SB this year. Might not make the playoffs.

Baldinger on Kinlaw. He sees real promise. Let's hope he's right. The kid has talent, and seems to have the right mindset, but he's got some work to do, too.
