I am just counting down the hours until utter disappointment. Who are some potential targets you guys would like to nab with our other picks?

43, 102, and 117 will be a combination of DE/CB/WR/IOL. Don't count out a RB late.

Have heard the same 3 QB's(Fields, Lance, and Jones) described as "Denver's guy is gone" as to why they made the Bridgewater trade. This thing cannot get here fast enough.

I doubt I will be watching tonight, I honestly can’t stomach watching us spend multiple firsts for a guy who likely would have been available at our original pick. My plan is to check the news later tonight and pray that they went Lance. I’m already facepalming and depressed in preparation

I don't think Jones would have been there at 12 but we could have jumped up a few spots and maybe not given up as much to get him during the draft

I’ve been watching NFL insiders with sources that work in the league. Teams in the 20’s are considering trading to the teens to take him if the 49ers don’t pick him at 3. That’s what NFL teams think of him currently.

Its now 8 hours before the draft starts, and at this moment my current feeling is that if Mac Jones is the pick at 3 then I won't really give 2 craps about what happens in the rest of the draft.

I know I'm a better fan than that, and even if Jones is the pick, after 24 hours of venting and bitching I will probably tune right back in tomorrow night for round 2. But man, this draft and the team's future just seems like a drag right now.

Here's my hot take:

Trade #3 + #43 to Atlanta for #4 + Julio Jones

Then with #4 draft whichever of Lance or Fields that Atlanta doesn't take at 3.

Then trade Garoppolo for any pick you can get, if for not other reason just to free up the cap it would require to bring in Julio.

Take your lumps with the rookie QB this year, then look to wreck the NFL next season with a rocket armed dual threat QB/Julio/Kittle/Aiyuk/Deebo/Mostert fueled super high octane offense.

ATL just restructured Ryan's contract. They're picking Pitts or a WR at 4. Why would they trade up to 3?

The restructure isn't a deterrent to drafting a QB. Atlanta is in a terrible cap situation, so they needed to free up money just to sign their draft class. The dire cap situation is why they have been open to the fact that they have put Julio Jones on the trade block.

Falcons could very well take Pitts at 4, but I've heard Pitts himself say they he expects the top 4 picks to be QBs. Atlanta would trade up to 3 to get their choice of Fields or Lance.

But yeah its an unlikley scenario, which is why labeled it as hot take. I'm just reaching and hoping for scenarios that don't result in Mac Jones becoming a 49er.

Read on Twitter

So the NFL is stepping in on this?

"Jags your're fine with Lawrence, Jets you're cool with Wilson, but 9ers y'all are tipping this Mac Jones pick way too much. We're going to need you to wait until the absolute final second that you're on the clock until you turn in your card, that way other teams have as much time as possible to win the bidding war for #4 so they can take a QB with actual upside."

Reports now out saying that the Saints are trying to move into the top 10 to take a CB.

Jeeze man, 9ers way over jumped the gun with their trade a month ago. Mac Jones would have been there @ 12.

If nothing else, we know we could have gotten up to six for a fourth-rounder and next year's first. And I'm quite confident Jones would have been there. That said, there is some truth to the thought that you don't play games at the QB position. If you like a guy, go get him. Ultimately, if the QB hits, that additional first is not as important.

I'm going to give the FO the benefit of the doubt and assume that their talk about all the evaluation they've done since trading up is just talk. It would be certifiably insane to pay what they did to move up for three if you thought the third and fifth QB in the draft were comparable talents.

If nothing else, the publicity the Niners have gotten from this trade - and basically dominating all sports media for the past month - might make the trade worth it in ownership's eyes.

So apparently that call to Green Bay took place today, and supposedly was entirely exploratory and no formal offer was made.

Man, that just reeks of them doing that to be able to say in the post draft presser something like "well we explored all avenues to upgrade to QB position but in the end we just felt like Mac Jones made the most sense for us moving forward."
