Do they think Mitchell can play WR?

Didn't address the WR position at all, and didn't acquire any 2022 picks to help restock the cupboard.

Not a fan of this draft, and don't have 1st rounders in 2022 or 2023.

Elijah Mitchell doesn't project well as a 3rd down/receiving back either. That was really the only role that might have been available within that position group, and its not a strong suit for either of the RB's they drafted.

Demetric Felton would have served us well. Full time slot player that can also chip in and contribute as a RB. He certainly would take over the Jerric McKinnon role.

Vikings just drafted Jaylen Twyman. I was super high on him this time last year. A player I thought was destined to go in the first round.

Any WR brought in at this point would likely be depth or not make the team. I’d rather resign Jordan Matthews doe that.

Usable depth at WR would be quite desirable at this point.

The likelihood of any of these guys being “usable” is slim. We have tons of useable WR’s

For me, that group is a massive pile of unwantedness. So I'd rather bring in fresh blood, that might actually develop into something useful.

My opinion is that we can’t keep brining in late round WR talent, letting them sit on the practice squad for a year and then deciding that they aren’t useful and doing the same the next year. Which is what you’re suggesting.

Actually I'm suggesting that White/Proehl/Cracraft/Sherfield aren't close to NFL caliber players. Sanu and Benjamin have seen far better days. Both Hurd and Jennings are 100% unproven wild cards, and James sucks as a regular WR.

If you aren't bringing in new talent to compete with that motley crue, you're doing something wrong.

Also to extrapolate a bit, 9ers are going to be short on draft picks and cap space next season. So the opportunities to find WR help are not numerous.

Carolina just took WR Shi Smith of South Carolina. Was thought to be connected to the 49ers in day 3, ends up going 204.

Kevin White holds the same place on Bear's fans s*** list, as AJ jenkins does on ours.

Although White going #7 overall vs Jenkins going #30 probably gives him the award for highest ranking POS. Although at least Bears fans got 25 receptions out of White, we got exactly zero out of Jenkins.

So the wrap on Hufanga is he's at his best near the line of scrimmage, is slow, and really struggles in pass coverage.

I was on the Rondale Moore train months ago.

We've seen Richie James and if he, Benjamin, or Sanu has to be relied upon we're in trouble. Hurd still has a chance to emerge, but he's barely practiced let alone gotten game reps. Everybody else really has no business being active on gamedays.

I'm honestly kind of shocked someone is against bringing another WR, especially when one of the alternatives was drafting 2 RB's.
