It was a read/option play. He could have handed off to Mitchell, but he just flat out hesitated and lazily turned back into the teeth of the defense.

He couldn’t have pitched it because the LB played the RB perfectly

He could of just handed it off initially if he read it right.

Regardless, he hasn't shown any wiggle or power running the ball today.

It wasn’t a handoff it was a pitch. The play was a standard option

We should be looking at letting all our key starters get a head start to the showers; don't need any injuries here.

Like I said, either way he hasn't shown anything as a runner today.

3 carries for 2 yards, and every time he's tried to run all it has done is killed the momentum of drives.

I would imagine Lance will be under center for the rest of the game.

Likely to be all run plays

Oh man Verret is down.

That's one guy 9ers absolutely can't afford to lose

And there is the injury we all knew would happen. Kyle needs to know to pull his starters

Obviously Shanahan does not agree and unfortunately Verrett pays the price.

Lions are keying on Lance to run. Teams will unless they feel Lance is going to pass. With Smith and Kaep it worked some at first but teams keyed that kaep was going to run and the same thing happened until Harbaugh scrapped it

Sure they are keying on him. But he hasn't shown anything as a runner either.

Hasn't ran through any contact, hasn't made anybody miss, hasn't shown any speed, etc.
