First half was pretty concerning, but Trey settled in and played a solid 2nd half.

He should be able to build off that

Panthers have the Ball down 8 with 4 minutes left.

Shame Sam Darnold is their QB, i'm not confident

Panthers run on the first 3 plays of the drive... Rhule is either tanking or realizes Darnold sucks

Jeeze, Darnold slid on a scramble with 2:15 left. Panthers aren't in any kind of a hurry and just let those 15 seconds drain off the clock and bring on the 2 minute warning

Can they beat the Rams with Trey at QB and with this secondary?

Oh well, not expecting much in the playoffs so doesn't matter either way.

Just hoping for the Falcons to beat the Saints in the early game so it won't matter!

Lol, Darnold takes 2 sacks and throws an INT on that final possession.

That guy is terrible

Unless they move the 9ers/Saints up to Saturday, which there is some chatter it may happen

If Cowboys lose to Arizona today, which looks likely to happen. Not only will the Rams have something to play for next week against the 49ers, but the Cowboys won't have anything to play for against the Eagles.

None of which helps Frisco.

It may ultimately be better for the franchise to not make the playoffs.

Then they can at least strip some player personnel responsibilities from Lynch and Shanahan or entertain doing so.

Apparently the Eagles clinch if Vikings lose tonight anyways

I think we need to beat the Rams to make the playoffs. Lots of games this year that are especially hard to swallow in retrospect. This team choked away several wins.

Yeah, I just heard that. With Cousins out tonight, the Eagles clinching is all but a lock.

Which is pretty crappy considering the 9ers beat the Eagles and hold the head to head tie breaker.

In terms of the Niner game, I think we need to throw more with Lance. When he has an opportunity, the chunk plays can outweigh the mistakes. But they won't if we constantly play it safe.

Yep, the Packers game immediately comes to mind. 9ers scored a TD to take the lead with like 35 seconds remaining and the Packers didn't have any timeouts. So upsetting...

But yeah, I agree with you I'm not confident the Saints will lose to the Falcons. And while the 9ers seem to have had the Rams' number in recent years, this is a really good Rams squad loaded with talent. Kupp and Beckham are a nightmare matchup for the secondary.

I saw that the 49ers currently have n 81% chance to make the playoffs. I don't know how its that high considering next week's matchups.

Sucks it will come down to next week. The Saints just aren't a good team and have no chance IMO of winning a playoff game, I wouldn't doubt they lose to Falcons next week. Rams game for us on the road with a rookie QB is going to be tough, Oline has to bring their A game again.

Saints have a great defense. I wouldn't take Atlanta to beat them.

I really hope the NFL doesn't move the 49ers/Rams game to Saturday. Simply because as the schedule currently looks, the Saints week 18 result will be known by the time the 9ers kickoff. If New Orleans loses, the 9ers can rest a lot of guys and not put much of significance on game film.

There just isn't a ton of juice on next week's schedule. The 9ers/Rams and Chargers/Raiders are really the only 2 matchups where both team's have potentially big playoff implications.

I would imagine both of those games get flexed into the 2 prime time slots next week. If so, I just hope the 9ers game gets flexed to the Sunday night game not the Saturday night game.

Return to San Francisco 49ers
