And how do you suggest that can happen?

9ers don't have a 1st round pick this season or next, and they are short a 3rd rounder this year as well, so what do they have to trade for Rodgers?

Rodgers isn't going to continue playing without Davante Adams, so how do you suppose they can get him as well?

Most importantly, what makes you think the Packers would even entertain trading Rodgers to the 49ers? If they trade him, it will be to an AFC team, and the 9ers would be about the last place they would want to trade him to.

Sounds crazy but I'd rather pass and roll with Trey.

Rodgers' in the post season never comes close to Rodgers' in the regular season and paying him 40 million means we'd lose a lot of talent. If he had a pedigree like Brady's I'd say go all in on him but his playoff record sucks which isn't all on him but it's still not great.

We roll the dice with Trey but at least we had a chance to keep guys like DJ Jones, Arden Key, along with having to pay top dollar for Deebo and Bosa.

So they just continue to bury Jordan Love, who they drafted in the 1st round?

Okay, for the sake of argument we'll say they do.

What about the other hurdles?

How are you getting Davante Adams as well?

How are you going to convince the Packers to trade Rodgers to probably their most hated team?

No thanks, for better or worse this team is invested in Trey Lance. They need to let him play from here on out. Rodgers is old and he sure as hell didn't impress against us a week ago. Not to mention he's a major league a-hole. I'd rather have Brady at 45 or whatever he'd be next year than Aaron Rodgers.

Because Rodgers has said he and Davante are a package deal, and he's not going to continue to play without him.

We need Lance as our QB. Or more accurately, we need his rookie contract in the most expensive position's cap slot so we can fill in the other holes on the roster. We will need a center next season. Also, Tartt is a FA. Although we could probably sign former boxer Roberto Duran to take his place - like Tartt, he was also known as Hands of Stone.

Agreed on the rookie contract point.

As for Tartt, I'm good to let him walk. Its not just his terrible ball skills, which were on full display tonight, but he's consistently hurt.

Give Hufanga the role.

Rodgers is not coming here. The 49er invested three first rounders in Lance and are going to roll with him and I am okay with that. I don't want to give up what we have left in draft capital for a one year rental for Rodgers.

Indeed. And we aren't going to win nothing with Lance, seems talented but not a top tier quarterback.
