This is why we should never spend big money on a QB.

Trent and Aiyuk holding out. They saw what the team did for CMC and said do that for me too.

Reporters seem to think they can free up more Cap space by giving Trent a signing bonus, maybe that can free up some more space for an Aiyuk extension. I don't really understand how it all works to be honest

Restructuring a contract and giving a signing bonus spreads the cap hit into future years so you get immediate relief. It is basically kicking the can down the road. Hopefully management is judicious in using these methods as to not creating a future cap crisis.

The 49ers drafted Beathard and he played like crap. The qb before did crap. The team dumped both. Jinny played pedestrian and the team moved on from home. Lance couldn't do crap and still isn't. Saying anyone can play in this system is bullsht

I'm probably more positive on Cohn than most 9ers fans but I do find that he can take perfectly reasonable negativity and go way overboard with it.

To be fair I've seen beat reporters go overboard with positivity as well.

That's why in general I'm hardly paying attention to the training camp reports because everything just gets overanalyzed and the things I'll keep an eye on are injuries, preseason games, and the practices against other teams.

Like I don't care about linemen battles without pads and even with pads I don't particularly care about offensive vs defensive linemen drills because I know those drills favor the defense. Don't get me wrong that doesn't mean that stuff has 0 relevance or I think our offensive line is going to be great it's just that I'm not going to freak out if a guy loses a 1v1.

It's just far better to not pay attention until we get to the parts that actually matter.

I think the plan with Ricky Pearsall is for him to replace Deebo next season. You are right, no way they both WR's that kind of money. While Pearsall isn't Deebo, his skillset is more in line with what Deebo does than BA

Heard it often voiced that teams with deep playoff runs tend to suffer more injuries the next year, particularly training camp injuries. Seems to make sense but has it ever been actually studied/proven?
