I read somewhere, that Eric Heightman, checks off the defense (a lot of centers do this).

I always see Alex checking off his receivers...you think he dumps it off to Gore & Davis w/o checking off Jackson/Battle? Come on.

Davis was open all day? I seen two plays that were specifically called for Vernon Davis. VD has been primarily used as a blocking TE. Like Smith, it seems Hostler has so far failed to get VD more opportunities to shine. VD has too much talent, and YAC-ability to not get him the ball 6-10 times a game.

Alex Smith, when aloud to play, has shown to have what it takes to win a game. He's been very consistent, completing 65% of his passes without throwing an interception. He put together a game winning drive just a week ago that included:

- A 20+ yard scramble on 4th and one to keep the drive alive.

- A perfect 40 yard pass to Jackson, who dropped it in the end zone

- A pass that should have gone for a TD is Battle hadn't fumbled at the goal line

- And he was 6/7 for 60+ yards for the drive

He's averaging 7.4 per attempt. Steve Young said it best after the game, "Alex Smith needs to tell his coach to trust him."

Run, Run, Pass is not going to cut it. TAKE THE HANDCUFFS off of Alex Smith.
