Football sucks for the niners all the time...our defense was on a roll too. I'm really disappointed right now.

This ****ing blows!!!

On the plus side for Manny atleast this injury occured early this season. Now he'll have a lot more time to rehab and be fully healthy for next year.

It happened already, and we can't do anything about it. Lets just hope he fully recovers and stays healthy for next season.

Coaches are gonna be mum about what they're gonna do until game day.

Options: Hannibal Navies, Parys Harralson, or Brandon Moore, whose never played OLB in a 3-4.

If Moore can revert back to his form last year as a hitting machine, this may not be -to- bad a loss. Nobody can replace Lawson that is for sure; however, Moore could possibly take some of the sting out of it.

My concern isn't even primarily this year. It's that you take a guy whose primary asset is athleticism, and you give him THE athleticism-robbing injury, and...

It hasn't hurt Gore much.

The guy's still young, so he should be able to bounce back.

I'd call tearing your achilles tendon an athleticism-robbing injury. A slight acl tear is a pretty common injury in football.

Lawson is really bright too, isn't he? Didn't he score like a 43 on the Wunderlich test? So it's not JUST athleticism.

Like I even know what that is. :?

What was Julian Peterson's injury? He recovered well, didn't he?

Anyway, I think everybody expects Lawson to make a full recovery.

On the flipside, it sucks that we're losing his unique talents. Lawson is totally a guy who is both a good pass rusher and a good coverage guy. I'm expecting Lawson to be the sort who could shut down a top flight tight end. I like all of our replacements, but I don't think any of them have the pass coverage capabilities that Lawson does.

Another big loss, was one of the best defensive players on our team. He's young so hopefully he should recover and come back stronger than ever.
