Touches... all about touches for Frank. He was quite a good WR two years ago, the only reason I think he had trouble this year was because of his broken hand.

I think Gore was hurt this whole year with his ankle more so than his hand. He always seemed to be hobbling off the field in substitutions.

But Gore will still be productive under Martz.

Apparently many within the organization are less than thrilled with the Martz hire.

Not because of his ability...few question that...but because it appears the guy is a complete jerk to deal with, and the Rams GM (who is close to the York family) couldn't wait to get rid of him in their time together, despite his on field success.

Also, Gore was initially disappointed in the hire, thinking it meant going away from running, but has since been turned around by the comments Martz is making about his being the hub of the offense.

Of those who don't like the move (some called 'high up'), many apparently thought this move was precipitous, that Nolan really didn't keep anyone in the loop, let alone involve them in the decision, and this was seen as his trying to reassert his authority after the whole GM thing.

I can't wait to get rid of Nolan. The guy is a complete jackass who doesn't understand the game of football, especially at the NFL level.

It should make our offense more watchable next season, but do we really have the personnel as of now? I mean Alex Smith really showed nothing last season, and our WR's didn't do much to help--though I did like Battle's effort.

Yeah first thought that came to mind was going away from Frank Gore, which IMO is the wrong way to go, but from some comments seems like he'll still get his touches, moreso in the receiving game as well. He led the team in receptions two seasons ago.
