thanks for the recap.

I guess Curry hyperextended his elbow but played through it.

Clemons looks legit as long as that side gambles the right way with a corner or safety blitz to keep the tight ends honest it could be a good thing.

Our running game is a little depressing, but I imagine Okung is a key there. I hope camp cuts give us a respectable OT to pickup.

Lastly glad to hear that Hill took a pay cut. We have a need for depth at lb with all the injuries that group seems to get, so at that price he's a great asset (on the field).

Well just as soon as I post that:

Seahawks acquire offensive tackle from Lions

The Seahawks' ongoing search for offensive line help has led them to another trade with Detroit, this time acquiring tackle Tyler Polumbus, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Seattle attempted to claim Polumbus off waivers last week when he was cut by the Denver Broncos, but the Lions snapped him up first by virtue of being ahead of the Seahawks on the waiver list.

It's unknown what compensation the Seahawks are giving up in the deal.
Polumbus, 25, started eight games for Denver last year. The 6-8, 300-pounder spent two years with the Broncos after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado.

Seahawks offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates was an assistant with the Broncos during Polumbus' rookie season in 2008.

Started some games in the system... sweet... had to trade to get him... errr for what?

Kind of figured they would get Polumbus...Detroit had decent tackle depth and seemed unlikely to keep someone on the 53 man roster that was moving from a ZBS scheme. He's got experience in the system, and the bad thing about trades like this is it shows someone in the front office is at least capable of understanding what trade value is all about.

Housh is gonzo! and we can prolly count on JP gone for Ramsey.

The Seattle Seahawks will cut ties with T.J. Houshmandzadeh by trading or releasing him, according to two league sources, and it will promote former Detroit first-round draft pick Mike Williams into its starting lineup for a Sept. 12 game against San Francisco.

And the Seahawks moves are not done. They also are likely to pursue quarterback Patrick Ramsey, whom New Orleans released Friday. If Seattle landed him, it likely would have to get rid of another quarterback.

You'd think that maybe the Vikes would be interested in Housh with Rice having gone down for at least half the season.

J.P. sucks and Ramsay can throw a deep ball fairly well so...I have no problem with that decision,

Cutting Housh seems tragic and needless to me. If he is a sunk cost and can play the slot...what prevents the 'Hawks from adding V. Jackson and putting he and Mike Williams outside with Housh in the slot? I don;t get it...if the team wants to add tall WR, how can they get rid of Housh and honestly say he doesn't fit their 'scheme?' Trading him is one thing, but cutting him is complete nonsense.

Housh is gone for nothing, Alex Gibbs just resigned possibly due to in house tensions per the Seattle Times...this is an embarrassment. So Sea hawks wanted Jake Locker? Looks like we are on our way towards getting him.

For some insane reason Pittcock is cut while Terrill remains on the team. Again. And Ellison is kept at safety. Parks is cut while Cox remains.

I don't get it...the front office does all this double talk about competing, and yet they get rid of players [Wilson, Parks] who outperform other players on the team simply because the other players, physically, fit their scheme better. Nonsense.

The "in house tensions" thing was corrected in the Times. It seems that he was just fatigued with the job, that there was nothing that at all that confirmed such a thing.

I think this management team has proved to be weak in getting fair value in some of their moves. On the other hand, they are trying to remake the team in the image that they want, and know that they have more than a season or two to accomplish this feat without being in fear of losing their jobs. I'm quite wary of this management team, but, in the end, I'm going to have to wait and see over the next two years before I can make more final judgments.

The next two drafts, the next two off season moves, better start paying dividends for them during season three of their tenure. If our future doesn't look a lot brighter by the 2012 season, then we could be in the Seattle Mariner situation of the last 8 years or so.

Well the house cleaning is on. Now it looks as if Locklear may be on the way out. I think they've thrown in the towel for the year, and have consigned themselves to rebuilding. I think I'm okay with that. We're going nowhere fast anyway. Might as well house clean, stock draft picks, get a few more very high draft picks. Doesn't bode too well for an exciting season, unless you're interested in seeing young players get a chance to play, and interested in seeing where this new management team will take us, the attitude they're instilling.

Losing that 2nd round pick next year in the Whitehurst trade is the thing that still gets my goat the most. I mean if we're going to suck this year, wouldn't it have been nice to have both a high 1st and 2nd round pick in next year's draft? I would have been happier with having Hasselbeck and Wallace, and then draft our QB of the future in next year's draft.

Oh well...

Geez...we've still got all sorts of holes to fill in the next few drafts, QB, RB, DE, WR...

Well, we're getting Babs back on the cheap.

Terrill sucked anyway,

Whitehurst might have been way too expensive knowing that we could have gotten Leinart, but in truth I think he has more potential after watching his rocket arm, legs, and touch.

i wish Jones was gone, but for the discount price, he's at least an affordable 3rd back.

I want to put up a game thread, but who knows how many more starters will be interchanged. I think I'll wait a few more days.

The thing is, let's say we suck this year (probably will). Let's say we end up with a real high draft pick. Let's say that assures us of drafting one of the top QB's in next year's draft. Presumably, that means that Whitehurst would be projected to be a backup QB when the new QB is ready to take the reins in year two.

Personally, I'd rather have had Hasselbeck and/or Wallace around for a few more years to play until the new QB was ready, and then use that high 2nd round pick to fill a position of need with a potential quality prospect.

Glad they ditched Terrill, but this business of cutting popular vets to save a little money seems...odd. Is Allen wanting to pinch pennies in what could be a relatively lean year? How is perceived amongst the players? Considering they know their coach has more control than most, it would seem odd to me if I were a player.
