Jeremy Bates has been fired as the Seahawks' offensive coordinator. The news was first reported on the NFL Network, and has subsequently been confirmed by The Seattle Times.
Bates came to Seattle with coach Pete Carroll in January 2010 after serving as Carroll's offensive coordinator at USC in 2009. Bates previously worked under Mike Shanahan in Denver and Jon Gruden in Tampa Bay.
And who may replace him?
Well, we may now know why Josh McDaniels’ talks with the Rams hit a snag. And why the Seahawks booted offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that McDaniels has been talking with the Seahawks since Monday. You know, the day when the Rams deal started to fall apart and a day before Bates was actually fired.
I know some people have had issues with Bates, but I thought he did a great job in the playoffs. We destroyed the Saints thanks to his game plan. The loss against the Bears didn't seem like his fault to me...Hass was 'on' but his recievers were letting him down early.
You want to fire a coordinator for letting the Seahawks down? Then can Bradley. Or maybe the defense is Carroll's baby?
