The Seahawks come home none too soon after an ugly low scoring game vs the Dirt Colors. They could use a good dose of the 12th man and also to get back some "varsity" players from the injured list. Tarvaris is a game time decision, but several important players should return.

The Bengals bring a highly ranked defense and a certain redhead the Seahawks could have very well drafted. Andy Dalton comes in with the best rookie TD to INT ratio and a fellow rookie to throw to that will bring some talent and size to the Seahawks now all 6'3" and above starting CB squad

QB Tarvaris Jackson is a game time decision, C Unger may also return, Thurmond is out for the year with a broken leg, RB Lynch, and TE Miller should both be back.

Browns

Cedric Benson will be out, not injured, but rather suspended

Things to Watch:


1-Dalton/Green vs the big CBs
this could very well be influenced by the 12th man and the early success or failure of the Hawks to generate some buzz to help the secondary out with shear noise.

2-Doug Baldwin
off week (cuz of Charlie) let's see if they don't make some things happen his way this week.

3-Points?
Will anyone score between these two defenses?

4-Washington
He was flat out robbed last week. A special teams td might win this one.

5- Who's the QB?
the battle for placeholder of the year rages on with Jacksons injury having displaced him right as he started looking fairly good. CBJ certainly can play better than last week, but is his confidence messed up after the Stan Gelbaugh style game?

Rant alert-
This thread was badass, but then Chrome failed me and froze up losing the whole thing. Chrome seems to be sliding and is giving way to Firefox in my own personal browser war. A shame too since it won me over a year ago and Firefox needs to update to a new version every 5 minutes. Bah!

In Fridays press conference Pete is hinting Jackson just might make a start. Of course... knowing Pete, this probably means his season is really over

I have been flipping a coin in my mind all week about this game. I just can't get a feeling one way or the other about it. Cincy has a pretty good defense upfront. Dalton has exceeded expectations in his rookie year. We have the home-field advantage. Our defense has come on. Our offense has been woebegone.

I have it a 13-13 tie at the moment.

Sounds like he's expected to play. Which is good, I guess. As much as I wanted Charlie to get his chance, his effort last week was so subpar that he doesn't deserve another shot any time soon.

The fate of this team is impossible to predict. I think they'll destroy the Browns...and they put up one of the worst offensive performances I've ever seen. I think they'll get killed by the Giants...and the defense puts their foot on the Giants throat. This is why I don't bet on sports...

And I hope Dalton gets exposed a little bit. He's decent but he doesn't look like an elite level talent to me.

Jackson was announced as active and starting about a half hour ago...but now it looks like it's Whitehurst...?

We have them backed up and then hand them 20 yards on penalties. This team doesn't believe in discipline.

The no-huddle seemed to work well for Jackson, but it's a disaster with Whitehurst in there. Charlie looks panicked when we try the no-huddle with him in there.

Our defense is nasty. I like that. I think PC may well be one of the better defensive coaches in the league. I'm starting to come around to that opinion.

OMG! We need a REAL QB so bad. It can't come fast enough for me. I think you can guess why I'm so game for drafting two of them. I want to take every possible precaution from not being in this position again.

Rice can't catch the ball. Miller can't catch the ball. **** earn your paychecks.

Cincy is VERY strong up front. They're a nasty bunch. We need the quick passing game.

We need quick slants to Baldwin, and TE passes over the middle.

That was a great pass by Dalton. What can you do but lament that we can't make such pass plays.

We had a chance earlier but Rice dropped it...and then it was called back due to a hold anyone.

I know Cincy has a good defense but this is frustrating. We don't seem to be able to do much of anything.

And might I add this is another poorly refereed game. The combination of ticky tack new rules, results based penalties, and typical inconsistency damn near ruins my enjoyment of the game. It's very frustrating.

We need a real QB, a talented and more versatile running back, time for our offensive line to develop, perhaps another wide receiver, and a much more sophisticated offensive scheme.

Our defense is already good enough to keep us in most games.

How do you not call a delay of game there on the defense? Whatever.

You know, we're really not that far off from being a good team. If we had even a slightly above average QB, we would have won last week, and would probably win this week. Our needs are so visibly identifiable.

His decision making as a head coach is entirely suspect though. Calling a run on 4th and 2 with no timeouts? Cost us a chance to score three points to close out the half, which seems foolish since we get the ball to start the second half and had a good chance to really cut into that Bengal lead.

He likes to take such drastic chances on low percentage plays, like a long FG attempt to end a game that we had no chance to make, or throwing the challenge flag on plays where he just seems irritated. He likes to pull the trigger on low percentage plays in places where doing so can really cripple the team.

That's the type of thing you can get away with in college when your level of talent is clearly superior to that of your opponents, but maybe not in the NFL with a team in the process of being rebuilt.

It was bad enough the Bengal DL all fell down on Lynch and refused to get up, but I thought punching the ball away and making an official chase after it was a bit much.
