The Seahawks took out the Ravens but not without losing a few feathers. The entire rookie right side of the line is gone for the year. Chancellor, Rice, Baldwin, and Vobora are all trying to come back from concussions, and Tarvaris Jackson continues to feel his strained chesticle. Marshawn lynch has had back to back 100 yard games, but he'll have to hope the backup right side gets him some of the push that Carp and Moffit had started to give him.

The Rams don't feel sorry for anyone else's injury concerns after being crowned with this year's Greg Oden award for most promise shut down by injuries. Until acquiring Brandon LLoyd the Rams were mostly toothless running Josh McDaniel's offense- Don't be fooled though, St Louis has started to run the ball effectively and Lloyd has helped them move the chains with over 40 targets in 4 games.

Injury update:

Seahawks-

QB Tarvaris Jackson is sore still
RG Moffit out for the season with a blown out knee
RT Carpenter out for season with a blown out knee
DE Hargrove hamstring questionable
S Atari Bigby hamstring questionable

Rams

Did not practice
WR Brandon Gibson (groin)
OT Jason Smith (head)
RB Carnell Williams (calf)

Things to Watch:

1-Beastmode behind benchmode
If we another 100 yard performance we'll likely be praising the two bench standins and also the nasty left side that is in tact. Okung has been stepping it up and Gallery, while absorbing criticism has been the guy Lynch has been looking to run behind during this stretch of ample running yardage.

2-Steven Jackson vs the Beef
He's a punishing runner, but so far the Seahawks have been more vulnerable to speedy guys who hit the edge. Hopefully Kam is back and ready to punish back. I'm sure our line will be stout as ever, but they look special when the safeties and linebackers get in on the action.

3-Clem vs Saffold.
Saffold has been battling injury, Brandford has been slowed by an ankle problem, and Clemons is overdue for some sacks. I like his chances this week.

4-Penalties
Young team=penalties. We get it, but... c'mon now knock it off.

Predictions-

Lams 13 Seahawks 17

I'd be shocked if Lynch made it 3 in a row. Just when the offense was starting to roll and Miller was being used more as a TE than an extra blocker, we now find ourselves with the entire right side of the line on the shelf, replaced by Giacomini and McQuistan. While Moffitt and Carpenter have had their ups and downs, Giacomini and McQuistan were consistently terrible when filling in for Carpenter and Gallery earlier in the year.

This is an interesting matchup. I like our defense on the road since we do so well at stopping the run and the Rams really don't have any fantastic WR threats. That said, I have little confidence in our offense with the changes on the OL. Jackson's still hurting...one solid shot on a blown assignment on the right side, and next thing we know we're watching Charlie come in [and God only knows what that means].

I think the 'Hawks win 9-6 in a game that makes me wish I spent my Sunday doing something more productive.

Good God! We lose Okung for most of his rookie season. We lose Unger for his second season. Now we lose our our top two picks at RT and RG in their rookie seasons. I know injuries are part of the game, but this is more than a little annoying.

This is some ugly football. The run game is completely dead with Moffitt and Carpenter out [whether because of a coincidence or otherwise], the special teams sucks, and Jackson's already got a couple picks.

The half ends with the 'Hawks scoring a FG on the one yard line [where Carroll smartly didn't try to go for a TD] on a drive made possible on a successful Pete Carroll challenge. Hey! He's learning!

Oh my GOD! Red Bryant intercepts the ball, switched hands, and then swatted a defender out of the way with a massive stiffarm. What an awesome play!

three game homestand coming up:

3-7 washington
3-6 philly
2-8 st. louis

we could realistically be 7-6 soon.

or, we could lose all three by double digits. this team has no rhythm or reason to it.

our game after the homestand, @ Chicago, might have gotten more interesting: jay cutler out 6-8 weeks.

After that is SF week 16, and they might be playing backups
