Injury update:

Image

Seahawks-

Moffit (G) is out with a knee issue. Trufant (CB) is out with a back issue again.

Panthers

could not find information.

Things to Watch:

1. Wilson off the chain?
Lots of talk about needing to ease up on the rains and let him get a rhythm, but will Pete let him?

2. 3rd Down
Both O and D need to step up big time on 3rd.

3. Baldwin
Hello? Anybody in there? Sophomore blues so far, but then who's getting many passes this year?

4. pass rush
dormant again last game. I don't expect the blitz to be too heavy in fear of Cam bolting, so it will have to be there without rushing 4+.

5. Penalties
This again?

Predictions-
Seattle 17 Carolina 21 or Seattle 24 Caroline 20. Depending on DangeRuss's effectiveness and leash. If we lose a low scoring game again look for the Flynn talk to really get boiling.

I was so wrong on my last prediction (Seahawk domination) that I can't muster up a prediction about this one. Generally speaking, we usually lose when we fly to the eastern time zone for a road game (the Giant game last year one of those exceptions). The Carolina defense can certainly be exploited, but I have little confidence in our offense to do so. If they do, then we'll probably win. If they don't, then we'll probably lose. I have no idea which it will be.

The defense has looked great, forcing the Panthers to punt three straight times. The offense has been moving well but then stalling in the red zone again. Wilson had a great deep completion to Tate that was nullified by another Breno Giacomini mistake. And Breno just had another personal foul along the sideline to put the Seahawks in the whole again. Pete pulls him, so this should be interesting...we haven't seen Omiyale at RT yet, have we?

Red zone offense. Pretty nonexistent this year. We've got to get that worked out. We should be up by 10 points now. Instead 6-3 at half. We've just got to win this game. Mistakes again. Dropped int. Penalties. Ugh.

Yes, the defense has been great. They don't deserve this.

well, that was an infuriating final drive of the half for the panthers. instead of getting the ball back around midfield with a full compliment of TOs, clemons gets flagged for a late hit on newton on 3rd and long (deserved, i think -- infuriating insomuch that another mental lapse costs us big). later in the drive steve smith gets away with a monstrously blatant offensive PI that would have put carolina in a huge hole (infuriating because there were two officials right there), and later still a missed hold allows newton to scramble for big yardage to get into field goal range.

That was a bad little sequence there. A little maddening.

My goodness...first truly bad pass Wilson's thrown all game, but it's a doozy. And now we're losing. I just don't know what it is that's wrong with this team right now but things just aren't going well.

So the Seahawks response is a standard run up the middle twice in a row to set up 3rd and 4. Awesome.

Is it 5 mistakes this half?

--2 INT's
--Browner holding
--Leon Fumble

What am I missing?

through 3 quarters cam newton is 5/20 for 55 yards. carolina's top running back (my beloved j-stew) has 4 carries for 16 yards.

this should not be a field goal game...

Wow what a huge strip by Richard Sherman to steal a first down! C'mon 'Hawks, you've got the ball and decent field position. Put a drive together and put this game out of reach like it should have been a quarter ago.

There are things about Wilson's game I like and things about his game I don't like, but one thing I hate is his tendency to scramble BACKWARDS when facing pressure on 3rd down. Step up in the pocket and look downfield.

Missed most of the 1st half because of work and with the play in the 2nd half I am amazed we are not being blown out
