Kubiak was by far the most qualified among the names.

Hopefully they bring in a good OL coach. That should be the top priority.

This article referenced by the below youtube is an interesting breakdown on his philosophy (saints were injured to all hell early after the rocket start), but the tldr is this guy likes TEs and fullbacks and removing CBs by running a ridiculous amount of jumbo package via the TE group. Might be time to consider Warren at TE if he makes it to us.

With that said, the Saints' commitment to tight ends is notable -- neither the 2021 Vikings nor 2023 49ers were using multi-tight end sets like this. And it wasn't a no-brainer from Kubiak, either: New Orleans' tight end room wasn't renowned for its depth and talent before Kubiak arrived. In Foster Moreau and Juwan Johnson, it had two playable guys, but Johnson lined up at wideout as frequently as he lined up at tight end before this season. Kubiak has now stuck him to the tackle's hip and made a true tight end out of him. Fullback Adam Prentice is getting Kyle Juszczyk usage -- he has lined up at tight end on 30% of his snaps this season.

That's why he was my preferred choice.

The Shanahan/Kubiak offense uses a lot of 2 TE (12 personnel) & 2 Backs (21 & 22). Does a really good job of mixing the run & pass. But everything is predicated off of the run game. Heavy use of play-action. Kubiak uses heavier personnel to use the threat of run to keep teams guessing (run/pass). That's the staple of Shanahan's offense.

Interesting stuff there. I'm sure Klint would love one of the TE's who can play fullback, but doubt he'll have much say considering John should have a clue about putting O-Line talent in the trenches in this draft.

Taysom Hill might become available. I think they definitely will sign a fullback.

Klint sounds just like his dad btw. Same mannerisms too lol.
