Preseason acquisitions

Anyone have any thoughts on the three players the Hawks acquired over the last few days -- Alvin Pearman, Jason Babin, Ellis Wyms?

Babin is the most intriguing to me. He has a lot in common with the guy he was traded for, Michael Boulware. He came out in the 2004 draft like Boulware, and in fact was a first-round pick. He made a splash as a rookie but then fell out of favor. Seems like a lateral swap. Maybe he can do something for them off the bench.

Wyms surprised me because they had to cut Russell Davis. I was under the impression that Davis had played reasonably well in '06. And he has starting experience. But Wyms is a veteran and he's another guy Ruskell knows well, so I'll have to trust this decision.

Pearman? He's one of those names that have been located in the nether regions of my fantasy football cheat sheets over the last few years, but that's about all I know about him. I wonder if he'll get any touches.

The Davis cut surprised me because, really, he seemed like the best bet for a run stopping/non pass rushing tackle. What's Wyms offer over a guy like Terrill?
