The riches-to-rags saga that has been Courtney Taylor's season continued today when the Seahawks released the second-year wide receiver to clear a roster spot for Jordan Kent.
Kent, another second-year wide receiver, started the regular season on the 53-man roster but was released Sept. 9 and signed to the practice squad.
Taylor likely returns – on the practice squad – if he clears waivers.
Taylor was elevated to the starting flanker position during the training camp after Bobby Engram cracked a bone in his right shoulder in the preseason opener – and because Deion Branch was not ready to return from having surgery on his left knee.
But Taylor struggled so badly that he not only lost the starting job, he worked exclusively on the scout team in practice the past two weeks and was inactive for Sunday's game against the Giants.
