5 years 40 million 15 guaranteed. Sounds good to me, way to not overpay.

I like Engram. He's probably been my favorite Seahawk over the past 3-4 years.

I personally have never heard of this TJ Hoozawhatsah..but I don't follow the NFL that closely. Sounds like the Seahawks nabbed a good receiever. I hope Engram isn't gone because of this. Wasn't there that one roster spot Koren Robinson was taking up that this new guy can fill? Or are you just saying we simply can't afford Engram?

Actually, that's not a bad deal at all. I was prepared to cringe when I saw the numbers, but I can definitely deal with this. I'm guessing this means goodbye Engram, and probably goodbye Crabtree as well.

Some of the fantasy sites are overreacting to the deal...I agree, the guaranteed money seems about right. Housh, Branch, Carlson, Burleson...Hass will certainly have some targets this year.

Nice pick up for the Hawks. And, I agree, they certainly didn't overpay for the guy. Matt will have targets but will he be able to get back in form enough to actually hit them? I guess we will have to wait and see. In the meantime, it is exciting to see the Hawks go out there and try to improve.

Doh..I like Engram. But when Sweez listed those 3 other WR's, I can say I prefer them over Bobby if that's what it comes down to. We're losing an awesome player in Engram. I remember Matt saying he could throw to Bobby with his eyes closed and he would still be able to catch it. He's been reliable.

I would still like the team to try to resign Koren Robinson to a minor deal. Assuming Engram and Crabtree are now too rich for the team's blood, the WR spots would go to Housh, Branch, Burleson, K-Rob and Obomanu. If they carry 6 at the position, there can be a competition among the other healing youngsters for the last spot. I'd tentatively root for Logan Payne in that group, but it's not very consequential in any case; I don't think any of them will ever rise much higher in the depth chart.

It's funny at the beginning of the offseason Seattle PI specifically had an article about how we wouldn't give Haynesworth or Housh a look due to the money they would demand. I think it's pretty fair money.

Honestly I still draft Crabtree and probably cut Branch & resign Engram depending on cap penalty/savings for cutting him.

I'm about sick of Broken Branch

I'm excited about this pickup for the Hawks. I've been a big fan since his days at OSU (yeah, some bias...but deserved). He and Chad Johnson were big keys to OSU's Fiesta Bowl team from 2001. Very skilled receiver who (fortunately) didn't follow Chad's lead on developing an obnoxious attitude. I really look forward to seeing TJ in a Seahawks uniform. Good character guy with very nice skills.

I think he actually went the other way with his attitude...kind of a dick in high school, and he grew up.

I never thought I'd be rooting for Houshmandzadeh. When I was at the UO, watching him strut around the field with that ponytail wagging around just pissed me off.

I had similar feelings about a certain bald, swaggering basketball player coming out of OSU in 1990. That worked out pretty well, though.

Who would that be? :D

I haven't heard any news on Engram yet..I still hope he is somehow able to stay. I'm not counting on it though.
