The rallying cry is win to get back to .500 by the bye. The Seahawks are coming off a thorough handing of asses by Peyton Manning and hoping to get one at home against Jacksonville. The 12th man is back on the field, but the Jags are on a roll. Enough about injuries, this a team that needs to step up and play better. Too many penalties and turnovers are killing any hope of getting right, but the bright spot is the relative lack of power in the Division. Give the 9ers some heavies to play against, capitalize on home field and we may be right back in the hunt. No quit lads, bust 'em up.

Injury update:

Seahawks-
Sims(LG) out, Hill(LB) out, Locklear (RT) out, Walt Jones(LT) done till week 7 or forever, Trufant(CB) out till the bye. Hasselbroke(QB) upgraded to probable. Kerney(DE) doubtfull with a pulled schlong/groin... probably both.

Jags-
Peterson(DE) out, Britton(RT) doubtful knee, Considine (S) doubtful, Seward (LB) doubtful
(Jags lead the league in groin injuries- what are they doing in the locker room? Should we trade Kerney over there?)

Things to Watch:

1-Matt's ribs- can he zing it? How does a sack go? Can the line protect him?

2-Due for a Julius Jones 100 yard game. He takes every other week off, so we should be in good shape this week at that rate.

3-O-Line... Barf last week. This week?

4-Jags passing attack. We're horrible in the Secondary.... and Gerard is coming on strong. Can not let the Jags get going early with the teams fragile psyche and lack of weapons.

Predictions-

Seahawks get up for this one at home. Jags are due for some gravity and lots of false starts.

Seattle 28 Jacksonville 14

Thought this was interesting mostly just for the fact that they are 29th in defense and tied for last while blaming it on the pass rush, or lack there of. (sounds familiar)

The Jaguars moved up to 10th in overall offense this week, but the defense is lagging at 29th and is tied for last place against the pass. The blame for the pass-defense failures is being put on the lack of a pass-rush; the Jaguars are also last in the league in sacks per pass play.

Del Rio defended defensive end/linebacker Derrick Harvey, considered to be the Jaguars’ premier pass-rusher but without one this season.

This feels like it should be a winnable game, but the Seahawks have to step up--especially on offense. I know that the offensive line is likely the number one cause for the dreadful running game, but Jones needs to step up, or we need to start looking at other players like Forsett or even James to try to get some rushing yardage... ok James may be a stretch.

Maybe I'm jumping the gun, but I'm this close to saying it's time for some Mike Teel. I'm at least more willing to forgive some of the bonehead stuff coming out of the quarter back position if it's coming from a rookie than the same exact bone head stuff coming from a 7 year vet. I don't think Teel should get the start, but subbing in for Wallace should definitely be looked at.

I totally agree

A- if this is Jones' best year... we should be done with him. and statistically it is. yikes. Forsett has kicked ass... Mora needs to admit he's more dynamic regardless of the big playes Jones has busted to save his yardage.

B-If this is a loss I'd love to see what Teal can make of himself. He has real nice and we're gonna have some hard future of the position questions to answer before the draft. If we lose we're looking like draft analysts again, so Teal if we lose, though I'm guessing we keep beating our heads against Wallace.

I'd prefer to start looking O-line, Secondary if we go in the tank

ass kickin machines! whooo hooo... the pass game is on fire. Nate, Housh, Matt ftw. and let's start Forsett from now on, jeesh.

Ok, so if we wanna win games, just don't allow the other team to score....AT ALL.

What the hell was that? Jesus, they just destroyed the Jaguars...that was fun to watch. This is team is so bi-polar...I don't know what to make of it.

Wow. What a difference having Hass makes--I guess?

Have to give a shout out to Nick Reed. I'll be the first to admit that despite being a huge Oregon fan, I didn't have particularly high hopes for him--especially at DE. But he's proven me completely wrong. That huge run back is one for the memory banks.

Great game.

well... that was fun. The D started to look alive on the pass rush, which is our best defense at secondary.

I'm concerned about the run game and the fact that we were down to an injured 4th string LT, though.

I think it's clear Forsett is our best RB. Nice to see Edge salt away the clock with some effective steady running.

Not to mention Reed made other plays. Picking up a fumble and running with it is more of a fluke than anything, but he was getting pressure and hassling the QB.

What does our DE rotation look like next year? Tapp and Reed are undersized but effective, Jackson has turned the corner, Redding is more size than anything and in the last year of his deal, while Kerney is injury prone and makes a ton of money.

depends on what Redding wants. I'd keep him if it's half reasonable because he can play anywhere on the line and that would give us roster flexibility. I think that you make room for the little DE's or at least one and then add a FA if Redding is too expensive. We have big LB's so they should help with run support, add a Safety like Mays and you should have plenty of pop.

I think Kerney is d.o.n.e.
