Scott linehan said he would consider signing him. How do you feel about ricky williams? Do you think he would have an impact? Do you think he would stay out of trouble?

While everyone was waiting for him to turn his life around, he aged quite a bit. He'll be 30 next month. He came out in the same draft as Edgerrin James, and Edge seems old to me (maybe that's just because he's in Arizona). I guess maybe with all that time off, Ricky hasn't put as many miles on the odometer....

Still, I'm skeptical. He was always overrated IMO. He played six years in the NFL and was an outstanding player in exactly one of those years, 2002. He was decent in 2001 and pretty awful in 2003 -- lots of yards but he needed almost 400 carries to get there, averaging 3.5 yards per. All other years he had injuries but was nothing special even when healty.

Seems to me, you already have a workhorse, every-down back who is one of the best. Why bring in someone who is famous and distracting? Maybe he can lay low and find a niche as a goal-line guy?

Just get a guy in the late rounds (like Mike Bell with broncos this year.) We already have a great back, we don't need an overrated, publicity monger in St. louis. We just need a young, serviceable backup who can play a couple downs a series
