Titans CB Jason McCourty will look to come back in Week 5 vs. the Bills after spending time on the IL during his recovery from groin surgery.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Veteran cornerback Jason McCourty has missed the first three games of the season.

In his mind, he’s not about to miss a fourth.

“I’ll be back after the bye,’’ McCourty said on Tuesday. “I’ll be playing in the Buffalo game.”

McCourty sat out the first three weeks following groin surgery in August. A seven-year veteran, McCourty started all 16 games from 2012-14, and he’s started 72 of 90 career games since entering the league in 2009.

In recent weeks, McCourty has spent time rehabbing the injury. McCourty practiced with the team leading up to this past Sunday’s game against the Colts, but was inactive.

“I think I will definitely (have some rust), but the time game time comes in won’t matter,’’ McCourty said. “Whatever reps I get in practice I’ll continue to build and by the time that Buffalo game comes and I’m out there, I have to be ready to go. There will be no such thing as rust or injury or anything of that nature.”
