"I've sorta always thought the Titans ought to let Vince Young run that offense," Spurrier said. "That's what he did in college. They say he's going to get hit too much and knocked out of the game, but that's what he does best, is run and throw, and not be a drop-back passer."
Sounds like Michael Vick that Spurrier's describing. VY in his three seasons with the Titans is like a low level Mike Vick minus the hard arm throws and Vick being faster than Young in the runnning game. And yes, VY isn't a consistant drop back passer due to his subpar throwing mechanics. To answer Spurrier's question. The Titans want VY to be the QB who can pass well under pressure, to connect with his receivers with better throwing mechanics. As a QB, you can't get by on just running and the gunslinger mentality. Otherwise, the QB won't last a long time in the league.
