Draymond Green's Little Joke
Please, Kawhi.
Please, team...bring our long suffering fan base a chip and shut this kind of garbage up once and for all.

Re: Draymond Green's Little Joke
all due props for Steph, but if you put Dray on Lob City, I think we get the rings.
O God yes.
But that said, I love how Dray shoved it up our butt, keeping the rivalry going. Clips and Dubs were neck-and-neck for years before GSW went on their historic championship run.
Give us Dray instead of DJ, and history is changed. Dray is a champion. RESPEKT.

Re: Draymond Green's Little Joke
Well, for 2 years, Warriors were not good in 11-12 for many reasons, so neck and neck for two years.
It's a funny enough joke, I'm not particularly offended by something like that

If you put Dray on Lob City, he gets zero playing time and washes out of the league by the end of his rookie contract. No way Doc gives some no-name second-round rookie a chance to play over his washed veteran favorites.

Doc Rivers made second-rounder Deandre Jordan an All-Star.
this is too easy

DJ already got playing time under Vinny. All Doc did was increase the minutes for a player who was already part of the rotation.
Look at how Doc treated Mann his rookie year. That's what would have happened with Dray.

Thanks for proving my point. DJ started and played 35 minutes that game. It was Vinny, not Doc, who made DJ a rotation player.
For the record, what made DJ an All-Star also wasn't Doc. It was DJ himself reaching his peak athleticism during the weakest era for the center position in NBA history. If he was in his prime now with guys like Jokic, Embiid, Ayton, Towns, etc. holding it down at the 5, he'd never get even a fraction of the attention he got. Clint Capela is a better/more modern version of DJ and you don't see him making any All-Star teams because the barrier to entry is much higher. But I digress.
Left to his own devices, Doc - who already couldn't even be bothered to develop our first-round picks - would never give a fair chance to a second-round pick. Dray would have rotted on the bench like Mann did before Lue took over. And that's assuming GM Doc wouldn't have traded Draymond away for the washed-up fossil of a player he used to coach on the Celtics.

not one Clipper went elsewhere a did better under another coach
Bullock is the closest and took years and he's still marginal at best

Clippers, Don't Do This

Before I reply to the post at hand, let me address something real quick. Quake, the subject title in my post is not meant as a personal response. I am not calling you out on it, nor am I requesting for mods to close this thread. You're fine. What I want to address is how it relates to the Clipper's oldest Achilles heel:
Letting personal emotions get in the way of business.
Kawhi Leonard did not join the Clippers in a quest for revenge. You won't see him be ultimately motivated by a throwaway quip from Draymond Green. Yes, he insulted the Clippers as same old losers. That doesn't mean the Clippers should seek retribution. The last thing they want to do is pick a fight with Green and risk a player getting ejected from a game. Leonard has never been ejected from a game; George and Wall have. Get ejected, and the Clipper's perception as a reborn Good Samaritan will be erased. When was the last time Tim Duncan got legitimately ejected, without crooked officiating such as when Joey Crawford tossed him out for laughing on the bench? Things like this are purposely sought after for the sole reason of gaining an advantage while reducing the level of difficulty all in the name of winning games. Locker room material can only work for so long, and if your only way of winning games is through malicious machinations, pretty soon casual fans will question the Clipper's seasonal habits. They may look like the new Spurs, but really, they're just the same old Sterling Clippers.
Clippers need to be better than that. They should not let personal emotions get in the way of business. Don't be fueled by an offending joke, let it slide, and focus on the task of hand. Green gave them a distraction that could lead them into things they shouldn't be doing such as the following:
1. Racking up an early lead and/or massive winning streak, then run out of gas come playoff time. Remember that perfect December in 2012-13? It took a huge toll on them once the injuries started piling up.
2. Focusing on the team who solely offended you without focusing on the league as a whole. Again, 2012-13 season: they dismissed the Warriors because they missed the playoffs the year before, so they thought they were easy pickings. Clippers lost season series 1-3 to Golden State, resulting in Warrior's inevitable return to the playoffs. Not to mention a dynasty that I still blame the Clippers for creating in the first place. What if the Clippers create another title contender out of a lottery team? They sent the Timberwolves and Pelicans into the playoffs. And then there's the pesky Kings, who will at this point look for anything to get into the playoffs. Perhaps taking advantage of a distracted team will do them wonders, and if the Clippers were to be that distracted team Sacramento feeds off of to break their playoff drought, the world will never hear the end of it. Especially if they were to go deep in the playoffs, perhaps win the championship.
If the Clippers are to be the new Spurs, they need to be about pounding the rock. Always improving from within without external motivation, being respectful to your opponents, and not getting into useless kerfuffle that can only mean bad for a franchise with 50 years of futility to their name.

Joe ingles
Ingles never suited up for us in a real game. We've beat this dead horse thoroughly--I liked Ingles too but his stats were terrible in the handful of preseason games he did appear in. Roster numbers casualty, the 15th man. It happens. The Jazz were non-contenders and scooped Ingles up before we could clear the space to re-sign him, which we planned to. They had plenty of open roster space so they took a flyer on him, perhaps only to keep fellow Aussie [and eventual draft bust

Both Bullock and Ingles were years away from being able to contribute seriously anywhere and we were on the clock. Even at their peak they were 12 ppg guys. We're not talking Draymond Greens here.
