Clippers vs. Chris Paul Part Deux? (Poll)

Last time on Clippers Basketball...

A bottom dweller turned into prime time. Chris Paul, scheduled to be traded to the Big Brother Lakers, is re-routed to the Clippers, and their culture changed. Or did it?

Heartbreaking collapses. Untimely injuries. Finger pointing. Jealousy. Scandals. Favoritism. Six years of CP3 and the dream of sunshine and rainbows only found them back into the dark clouds of dysfunction. Six years later, he demanded out.

Fast forward to 2020. Coming off the worst 3-1 collapse in all of sports history, Clippers were forced to behave themselves under a new coach. Fueled by revenge, the league was out to get the Clippers in every way possible, from trying to get their best players ejected from a game to drawing 3-0 leads in the playoffs. Clippers overcame every adversity possible, culminating in their first ever conference finals berth... only to be thwarted by their former savior, now their greatest threat. Of all the teams to eliminate Clippers, of all the ones to draw an ejection, it was Chris Paul who finished the Clippers off for good. Despite losing in the 2nd round after going up 2-0 vs. Mavericks, CP3 still came out a winner, for his arch nemesis Clippers had missed the playoffs.

Perhaps the only reason why Paul lost in 2nd round again was because his enemy in the playoffs wasn't the Clippers. Had he gotten another victory out of his old team, the team who he personally felt ruin his legacy, the Phoenix Sun's list of accomplishments wouldn't have stopped at regular season franchise record. Like the rest of the league, Paul believed that magical things would happen whenever their opponent was the Clippers, and a win against the worst franchise in all of sports was inevitable. A second meeting would be perfect...

Except, Paul's days as a superstar may officially be over. After going up 2-0 (another one game away from a 3-0 lead and automatic series win), and turning another year older, his performance took a major hit. He wasn't the same player anymore. There was inner turmoil between DeAndre Ayton and coach Monty Williams that resulted in another DeAndre Jordan indecision moment, choosing Pacers and forcing owner Robert Sarver to match - ruining their chances at getting a savior in superstar Kevin Durant, the closest player to a LeBron James CP3 would have ever played with. With Warriors back at the echelon of elites, it could spell the end of Suns as an elite team. Now Suns are forced to trade Paul if they wanted Durant now, unless they're willing to wait up to the trade deadline so that Ayton can be shipped instead. Regardless, there is a great chance we don't get a Clippers vs. CP3 revenge match.

Or maybe we do. Suppose Suns get the Paul-Booker-Durant Big 3. Or Paul winds up out of Phoenix and takes a buyout to join another western conference team at a veterans minimum. Maybe Paul on the Lakers is the missing piece to finally allow for a Lakers-Clippers playoff series, solely because of the vetoed trade, LeBron James, and getting revenge on Little Brother for even existing in the league. What if Paul decided to join an eastern conference team instead, and hope that the Clippers show up in the Finals so that his first championship will be because his opponent was the Clippers. Either way, the storylines would be gold for sports media.

So yeah, I made a poll.

Do you think we get a Chris Paul vs. Clippers rematch in playoffs?
