Good start. Kawhi seems a bit rusty, which isn't shocking, but the important thing is that he's moving really well and looks comfortable out there (as does Wall).

Clippers winning on talent. Some players look rusty and certain line-ups need to develop chemistry.

That third quarter was absolutely painful to watch.

I'm very intrigued by Diabate, other than his energy and rebounding, he has some other skills (decent looking jumper, finding the open man instead of forcing a tough finish) that I wasn't expecting. Definitely needs to put on some muscle, but that's the easiest part. I wonder if the staff actually believes he might be a contributor this season, which is why they're fine with Moses being the other backup big.
Hopefully nothing serious with Luke's ankle. It's going to be open season for him out there knocking down threes.
Just in general, a lot of guys are going to get easy looks just by sharing the court with Kawhi (oh, how much we missed you) and PG (have a really good feeling about him, seems completely locked in). Zu could only work on catching the ball during practice and he'd still average over 10 ppg. Reggie and Norm should focus on taking efficient shots and getting to the line. A promising (re)start for Wall. There's definitely going to be an adjustment period for everyone.
I don't know how, but Amir needs to be part of the rotation. It's kind of wild to go from last season to being so deep that we might sit players who would be starters on other teams. But I'd rather complain about too much depth than a lack of it.
Go Clippers!

Re: preseason clips vs blazers 7:30 PM PST
John Wall missed most of his shots , although he hit that deep three. He also made some passes that became turn overs. Maybe it was due to the first game for him , but I am expecting the leadership to keep him in check with winning basketball.
Paul George looked great. He is so good.
Kawhi for the most part looked great. Obviously he needs a few more games to get back to his greatness.
Norman Powel struggled. He missed a few layups and jumpers. I expect that he will smooth it all out by the start of the season. He looked fluid out there and able to get to his spots.
Amir Coffey carried the Clippers in the 4th qtr.
overall I enjoyed the game. Blazers looked good too.

Re: preseason clips vs blazers 7:30 PM PST
It was great seeing some Clipper ball again- especially Kawhi!
think John will be fine, he wasn’t perfect but you could tell he was focusing on teammates and ‘point guarding’. Physically he looks fine, given our expectations for his age and injury history. I don’t like that shotput form on his shot but that’s not changing.
Even if his greatest contribution is giving Reggie a few more minutes rest every game, he’ll have largely earned his salary.
If given an actual chance, I think Amir may take a step forward from last year. I think that new contract gives him security and a sense of permanency in the league, he can focus on developing skills and helping the team and not worry about whether he’s gonna get cut or demoted.

Re: preseason clips vs blazers 7:30 PM PST
I noticed that the bench unit at the end of the game, even though they came back and won, offensively they didn't really run much except for VERY basic sets, and then some hustle in getting loose balls and offensive rebounds helped them. No surprise there though, that was the unit with all the young guys and end of bench guys.
Zubac really has it good, a lot of guys who are going to find him if he's open near the basket. Historically, Wall is also quite adept at looking for and finding roll men, so if they get good time together, that might also be a nice positive for him.

Great to see Kawhi back , didn't think he'd play this early.
Diabate will at least be a semi-rotation player this year.. and am very glad to see he got some good run and impressed - he will be a blast to watch and later on will get most of what this team needed from Serge.

Great to see Kawhi back. PG looks good. Wall is rusty but he'll improve as the games progress. Diabate is better than Moses Brown and as of right now looks like a diet Jared Jackson Jr from the Grizzles. He switches effortlessly on defense and can guard positions 1-5. Still early but if he keeps improving he's Zu's backup if I'm running the show. Not a fan of Norman Powell and I even thought this last season. He's chucker that doesn't play within the offense. Give Coffey his minutes. RoCo is great. Boston still has promise. The team is stacked. Somebody is going to come up short on minutes. I still think a trade will happen as we literally have too many mouths to feed. Here's to good heath, this has to be our year.

Since we drafted him I have been cautiously optimistic about Diabate as a hustle big who might be able to play a few minutes a game and maximize his strengths/ minimize his weaknesses if we use him right. I try not to get my hopes up because yeah he was a 2nd round pick and all, and the weaknesses are not insignificant. But stretches of 2-3 minutes here and there, help the team finish quarters with some urgency, occasionally make an impact play with his size and quickness, that might be within his wheelhouse sooner than later.
I like Norm more than you, but love the idea of him kinda platooning with Amir based on rotatations and what we need on the floor at any given time. There are going to be plenty of times where you need a shoot-first guy on the floor, and other times you need essentially the opposite, a glue guy to help facilitate our main guys. Obviously Ty’s rotations are based on more than just 1 position, but it’s nice to know that these 2 guys are pretty complementary.

Re: preseason clips vs blazers 7:30 PM PST
My observations from yesterday's game:
It was great to see Leonard back out on the floor playing basketball. He did look a bit rusty but no doubt he will be back to playing like a superstar in no time.
George looks ready to go.
Wall looked rusty and needs to develop chemistry with his new teammates. I can't see him as the starting point guard as a result. At least not at the beginning of the season.
I liked the combo of Coffey and Boston playing together. I know they won't get much time on the floor because of how deep the Clippers are, but I like what I saw from them playing together at the end of the game yesterday.
A bit concerned about Powell. Hopefully he just needs time to also develop chemistry with his teammates but it seems like he hasn't found a suitable role yet with the team.
On the flip side, I like how easily Covington has fit in with the team. Him and Batum are definitely the go to forwards off the bench for the Clippers.
Clippers are deep enough to win games based on talent alone. Hopefully as the season progresses, everyone on the team finds their role. Guess that is Lue's job to figure out.

Re: preseason clips vs blazers 7:30 PM PST
I was pleasantly surprised Leonard played so many minutes. I thought he’d start off around the 8 minute mark and work up from there. I also thought he moved pretty darn well even with rust. Give him 10-20 games to get his legs under him and rhythm back.
I thought Wall moved pretty good too. Certainly has some bursts of speed left in the tank. Some passes were a little off key but nothing that concerned me.
The important thing to me is they looked healthy.
