He'll help Boston. It's interesting comparing Blake to Trezz right now, and what their acquisition says about the teams that picked them up. Trezz will help in the season, and will give the Sixers are different look when he's on the floor. His energy will be a plus. I think he'll have a good year and will help in the RS--but it will evaporate in the playoffs. He'll literally average half of his RS numbers. Trezz is a pickup made to get players rest and win some game when you're scrambling for playoff positions. In the playoffs, as I said in another thread, he'll be a 12th man type of guy--someone who can't/won't be on the court in any significant situations, unless there's some sort of emergency.
Blake can't play big minutes. His shot was questionable last year. If he gets it back--I think he will (and so, obviously, do the Celtics)-- but even if he does, he'll be a part time role player for Boston. He'll play half as much as Trezz. I don't see him playing more than 50-55 RS games. I don't see him playing 1000 RS minutes. If he does, it's bad. But it looks like Williams will get back about 30 games into the season. If Blake can play in 20-25 of the first 30 games and help out, he can miss half the remaining games--because Blake is there for the playoff run. Make no mistake about it. If he's rested and uninured, he'll play 15-18 mpg in the playoffs and be useful. He'll spread the court and get good position and draw fouls and pass the ball well, and will be on the court in the fourth in close games.
