https://nba.nbcsports.com/2022/10/20/report-myles-turner-to-miss-at-least-one-week-with-left-ankle-sprain/

Turner only played 42 games last season after being diagnosed with a stress fracture in his foot in January. The Pacers will want to keep Turner healthy, especially if they intend to trade him. They’ll likely be extra cautious with him when he’s ready to return from this injury, since his history with various injuries could prevent them from getting fair value in a trade.

Myles Turner is expiring and Indy wants to move on from him for years, they waited too long for big packages that never been there...

No way I'm giving my starting Center in his break out year to consolate Pacers. Indy would be lucky to get a Kennard caliber of shooter in a cost controlled contract inexchange for him.

After seeing that injury history, I'm all the way out on Turner now. You just know he'll be on the bench in street clothes when we really need him while any young players we trade to Indy will immediately start balling out there.

Yeah that injury history is quite the red flag, I wasn't aware of that. OTOH, it might make him a bargain at the trade deadline.

I think our problem on the floor is not so much youth as it is athleticism, even though they are deeply intertwined. Zu and Kennard are young but not that athletic, PG and Kawhi are elite when healthy but just not the athletes they were 6 years ago, and so on down the roster. I think Marcus Morris is the prototypical Clipper LOL, he still has significant skills on an NBA court but young guys with smaller skillsets can run laps around him. We're too imbalanced as a team, but I think we are deep enough that we might find a trade or 2 to help that.

I think in terms of flat out athleticism and motor (and only that), Diabate might actually rank the highest. If'/when he can just be credible in overall skill level, he will get a shot for sure.

I'm a bit concerned about the injury history, but Turner is a definitely a good athlete. I think he is more athletic than Zubac and would be a distinct upgrade at the center spot.

This graph is upside down but basically it says Zu is a defensive god

Zu's defense at the rim has been phenomenal, if only we can get him clicking on offense as the defense tapers off a bit (I don't foresee him remaining that low on the graph), we would be nicely set.
