Unfamiliar combinations. A pickup team trying to D vs the World Champions.

Dubs are a humiliating 8-10 and are at full strength in front of their home crowd

we are still competing

Bro this is Lob City flashbacks of previous Warrior beatdowns. I know our stars are out, as usual, but we been getting ran by this team nonstop for almost a decade now

This is one of the top Clipper beat guys what are you talking about. He's right though... how long can the Reggie and Morris Show continue with the stars out injured all the freaking time? Are you serious

I'm not there yet but starting to feel this way. Our role players work their asses off while our 2 star players are always hurt. Cant build continuity with them always hurt.

Thank you, RS. I'm actually less sentimental about the Lob City era. Those guys were underachieving jerks. Lou gave it all every night.

This loss was a lack of effort. It Happens. I'd be more concerned had we lost with Kawhi and PG playing. The Dubs had their full squad and we didn't.
Next game.

And pretty soon, Morris and Reggie will get hurt because of so much mileage. Everyone protecting PG and Kawhi’s usage but we’re just gonna act like our role players never get injured and are expected to carry the load while the two are being cautiously “monitored”

Honestly, when Kawhi is playing two games in a row, it should be a shocker.

I thought we fought. Just outclassed. The Dubs had the best 3 or 4 players on the floor tonight--all night.

This goes without saying though. This is always the case. Our stars are always out, especially against the Warriors. And Reggie and Mook can't prop the team up anymore for a substantial amount of time anymore and our so called depth is a figment of the imagination. But I digress, on to the next one.

Can't be disputed. Forget a dominant team for 2-3 years. Kawhi-PG is a one-way ticket.

Depth is not just being about to make up for losing 2 Top 15 level NBA players though. Losing just one already drops us to 7-8 seed level.

Our depth is 3 though 11 being more or less interchangeable, and I still believe that. We’d actually be better of being more top heavy and consolidating but haven’t been able to land a big 3, otherwise our depth means NBA rotation-level players like RoCo and Amir get little PT. And that especially hurts when your big 2 are on the other side of 30.

I think we all knew all along that any chance at title contention is 100% based on having PG and Kawhi healthy for a playoff run (assuming we get into the playoffs…)

We are so lucky Zu is a horse. Morris and Reggie have held up amazingly well health wise, but their play suffers with too many minutes because of their age. We need to get younger but it’s hard to find avenues to get there.

We are so lucky to have drafted TMann, but that’s still in the context of a 2nd round pick. He’s already surpassed expectations even if he doesn’t become the high level starter we were dreaming off after that Utah game.

Mann’s ceiling is probably Jordan Clarkson. Like a third option on a playoff contender or a 6th man.

When multiple bench players become starters, depth might not be adequate to save you. The Clippers depth like you said is more about having multiple options to plug in around lineups with the best players.

In the end, doesn't matter what team you are, your two best guys don't play and it's going to be tough, and then if they go down, you aren't going to get very far anyways.
