3 years and 1 day ago...

https://clutchpoints.com/clippers-news-montrezl-harrell-rips-la-after-26-point-loss-to-grizzlies

“We’re not a great team. We’re not a great team…” Clippers’ center Montrezl Harrell said. “I think that’s what we need to realize and wake up. We’re a team that still has to figure out things to win night in and night-out.”

“No defense, no communication, no energy…” is how Kawhi Leonard described the Clippers’ effort, noting this is not the first time Los Angeles has been flat like this. “We’ve had a lot of wake up calls. I feel like it’s the middle of the season and some of the mistakes that we’re making, we shouldn’t be making at this time.”

Things got so bad that in the fourth quarter that the 25-12 Clippers heard boos from the home fans.

“Us as a team that should wake you up,” Harrell said of the boos. “Losing by 20-plus points on your home floor, getting embarrassed, and booed by your home fans, that should wake anybody up."

“It’s playing with effort,” Harrell added. “The only thing we’re supposed to do, [which is] carrying out our game plan, no matter what that may be. Every team is gonna have a different game plan. At the end of the day, it’s all gonna come down to who wants it more, and, at end of the day, you saw who wanted it more out there on the floor.”

Part of that is injuries, the Clippers have had their full starting lineup and rotation for one game this season.

Trezz is gone. Doc is gone. But who is still here???

2 weeks ago we were riding high on a winning streak, now we’re in the dumps. I believe both are part of the ebb and flow of any NBA season. The question is, what is our upside this year assuming no major roster changes?

I would still guess we can win a playoff series (healthy), but getting out of our old nemesis the 2nd round is unfortunately gonna be tough…

Well said.
I think the recent losing streak has taken it's toll. Losing is never fun especially when our team has such promise.
I think we can turn this turn around. I'd rather take this team coming into rhythm in the second half closer to the playoffs.
We all know when healthy, Kawhi is a force in the playoffs. Let's just hope for the best.

The one thing that could improve without any trades is Kawhi's play with more reps. His second year was even better than his first here, if he hypothetically regained that form we'd be getting another PPG on significantly higher efficiency too. So there is that to at least hope for.

generally agree that that's a potential boost that might just occur naturally. one thing i'll also add is that kawhi i think is way ahead of the pace most people expected him to be at. i mean some games he looks REAL GOOD, and each game he plays i think he's reassuring us that he'll be that guy come playoffs.
