This is why hes a terrible coach. We all saw this lineup yet is completely clueless. Mann is a point guard. Just not traditional. We needed a non over dribbling point to get in the lane, create movement, and put pressure on the defense. He also plays d, rebounds, and blocks shots.
PG, Reggie Jackson, and a pick for Anthony Davis. Who says no?
To be fair-
1. He only said he likes to keep one in. Generally we always want one of Norm/Luke/Reggie in, if Mann is the other guard (even though we all fantasize about Wing Stop line ups.)
2. Mann as point only works with the right people around him, the best case scenario being healthy Kawhi and PG.
There will be times when Mann, Reggie, Kawhi, and PG are all on the floor together. I don’t care who actually brings the ball up the floor then, the main thing for me is to get Mann playing 30+ MPG in these lineups because he doesn’t need to be a consistent scorer, he can do all his other things and score when he sees opportunities.
I really think I do like seeing him bring the ball up the court though, it keeps him touching the ball and at least somewhat involved on offense Even when he’s not taking a lot of shots.
