LeBron is not really a fair comparison for regular human basketball players

Ty heard you. And Reggie saved the possession. With the turnover, Hawks could have closed to within 3. Now up by 7--GAME OVA

I'll glad Lue made the change of bringing Reggie off the bench. He's decent against second stringer but not so much against NBA starting material. Good for Reggie.

Sure, I like people who do the little things. Batum and RoCo do too. That's nice. But Reggie does BIG things. Any night, Reggie can win you a game. Mann, maybe once a year.
Look, Reggie is doomed here with his contract expiring. Like Lou and Trezz and Austin and Pat Bev and others, the writing's on the wall. Mann's contract kicks up to $11 million next year. The org has made its choice. And frankly, with Reggie hitting 33 in April, I can't disagree with the decision. Ballmer has decided that the Clippers are not going to be sentimental about these things.
But I predict Reggie WILL have a job in the NBA next season.
So if I were Reggie, I'd ask for a trade now to get a jump on my next contract with a new team. There are a lot of teams out there Reggie could help. Not only on the court, but as a heart transplant. Mann has energy; Reggie has swagger.
For team chemistry, they should probably keep Reggie unless a great deal comes along
And Reggie will continue to give 100% despite being demoted and disrespected and about to be cast on Ballmer's shittpile at the end of the year.
I'm really glad we now have the richest owner in sports instead of the cheapest one. But loyalty means nothing in Ballmerville.
Let's put it this way--I'm a much bigger Reggie Jackson fan than a Steve Ballmer fan. And I never really liked Blake Griffin, his game or Blake Griffin the person either. I just gave my opinion if I were Reggie's agent. Ballmer sucked Blake's balls and snowed him as "Clipper For Life" to get him to re-sign--then dumped his ass into NBA Siberia {Detroit] 3 months later.
Ballmer has decided that he can buy his way into a championship. It's a business. But the other side is--don't expect anyone to play hurt or tired. Only suckers like Reggie Jackson do stuff like that.

Just curious if Reggie doesn't mind taking a below market deal just so he can play another year or two and call it quits? I remember during that interview where he started crying and saying that he almost retired and that the team saved him... None of us know his future plans, but if he is close to hanging them up, maybe he wants to play with the team that he enjoyed playing with these past few years?

I think that like with Pat Bev, the Clippers are done with Reggie. He's been an amazing dumpster-dive stopgap, but the Clippers would gladly move him for an even minimal upgrade. Reggie has some fans in the organization like Ty and Batum, but I think the FO [and Kawhi] have moved on. Mann makes $11 million starting next year and the Clippers are still sniffing around for a #1.
Reggie has made over $100 million in his career and can afford to play anywhere he feels welcome. I just don't think it's here.
BTW, after a vicious slump, Reggie's shooting is back up to 42.4%/35.6%. Not great, but tolerable.

Pg Is his best friend. I donβt think he would be happy if he were traded. In fact, most ofthe team seems to like him. As I stated, unless a significant upgrade can be found, they should keep him- not out of loyalty, but the negative impact a trade would likely have on team morale

So Reggie doesn't feel welcomed here? Based on what?
After four seasons in L.A., Williams was admittedly shaken that the Clippers would decide to part with him.
βIt hurts,β he said on a Zoom availability from Phoenix. βI had a lot of investment there. We had some success. We were gearing up for another deep run, a championship run. That what my mentality. I thought I would finish the season there.β

Based on how they showed Pat Bev, Trezz and Lou the door. After four seasons in L.A., Williams was admittedly shaken that the Clippers would decide to part with him.

I don't know but we're only fans of this team. We have no idea what this business is really like. Reggie has been more valuable to this team than Lou and Trez combined.
Lou had issues in the bubble where he went to a strip club when he could have put the team in jeopardy.
Trez thought he was the second coming of KAJ. He's bad mouthed every team he's played for.
If anything, Reggie is thankful to the org for reviving his career. This is a constantly changing environment. Second and third tier players know that. There's always someone younger waiting.
Jackson is the quickest Clipper to strike up a conversation, a player who fist bumps arena security guards as warmly as he does his teammates. But Sunday night he quickly left the locker room inside Crypto.com Arena and politely declined an interview request.

We'll see come summer--if not at the trading deadline. I think he's out. I think they handled his benching poorly and humiliated him. I think Ty did it on orders from above, benching [scapegoating?] Reggie instead of Wall.Jackson is the quickest Clipper to strike up a conversation, a player who fist bumps arena security guards as warmly as he does his teammates. It's only Reggie's strength of character that enabled him to win his way back into the rotation after puking blood for this org for the past year and a half.
And as big a Reggie fan as I am, I'm not saying it's a bad organizational decision to move on, just like shedding Pat Bev. I'm not a T-Mann-as-point guard believer, or that he's even an NBA starter [4 points tonight again], but by many reports the organization does believe. At $11M a year starting next season, they need to find out.
As for Lou and Trezz, Trezz was dumped for internal political reasons and Lou wasn't dumped until the end of March of the next year. I'm not going to set them against Reggie as to who helped the team more--they each won us a lot of games, especially at their comparatively low salaries.
The larger point is that Ballmerville does not get sentimental. This is business. Ask "Clipper for Life" Blake Griffin.

Lue benched Reggie in favor of Wall? Wall wasn't even starting. And Lue did that in an insulting way? How so?
Besides, are these simply your conclusions that Reggie is unhappy because I didn't get that at all.
As good of a poster you are, sometimes you get too emotional with the players bro. Maybe you're reading too much into this?
