Clippers were winning with Mann in the starting lineup. They don't have a scoring problem, they don't need another facilitator either. They should've picked up another big, not Westbrook.

I’m not in total disagreement with your post and at the very least Mann should play more, but if he was so positively impactful shouldn’t it be represented in those plus minus numbers?

I’m still trying to wrap my head around it.

Mann was +5 and Westbrook -12. Their start to the game was poor. Maybe we'll get an accurate picture when Zubac returns to the lineup, but the 0-2 start is not a coincidence.

But those plus minus numbers esqtvd posted were for the last 15 games. Plus Minus for a small sample size can be ignored for a variety of reasons, but over 15-20 games (especially if you are playing with starters) it becomes more relevant, especially when ranked with the rest of the team.

The biggest discrepancies I see from last night's game are :

rebounding - LAC 38 DEN 50

points in the paint - LAC 46 DEN 62

Assists LAC 24 DEN 35

Denver had more turnovers 16 - 13

And yet we still got to overtime despite a horrendous start.

I would say we missed Zu in the paint, certainly. But a lot of those points in the paint are from Jokic's trademark pinpoint passing, finding the cutter underneath. And that goes to team defense, and in fairness we had 2 starters in Russ and Plumlee who had only just barely met.

Denver is the #1 seed and is a well-oiled machine, and we're out there with a pickup team. Getting them to OT on the road was no small feat.
