Maybe we flipped the 2-way to Wallace instead since an outside team was sniffing around him

just say no to westbrook, guys!
well, unfortunately if the kings game is any indication it looks like we will only have psycho-man and the psycho goreman dream is dead

So, looks like PG13 won't make a good GM in the next stage of his career, wasn't he the one lobbying for Westbrick to be signed....and not one victory to show for it. Maybe PG13 can do some broadcasting like Perkins does.

Re: The newcomers (Plumlee, EJ and Bones)
I thought we got EJ with a 2nd round pick but I just now learned that acquiring him costs us another pick swap on top of the one we already had with OKC. So instead of drafting in the lower teens of the first round we'll be somewhere towards the bottom end of the first round, like 27-30 slot. What was Lawrence Frank thinking?

upgrading a nice but sometimes lukewarm piece in luke for a more reliable, gluey, help you more now type of guy with a 20m contract that can be rolled up into a 3rd star in the offseason - i'm sure is what he was thinking
think the move was good/fine. i mean his first 2 games were really good. he just has no place on the team anymore, imo with the westbrook signing and lue having no plan.
it's similar to how mann has been all over the place the past couple years (and yet AGAIN) with his contributions because he doesn't quite know what he's supposed to be.

Re: The newcomers (Plumlee, EJ and Bones)
Someone on the Clippers' Reddit page pointed this out. Here's the stats on EJ's performance compared to the rest of the team since the All-Star Break:
- Last in DRtg (129.7)
- Last in net rating (-23.8)
- Last in PIE (1.4)
- Last in eFG% (40%)
- Second to last in Rebounding % (2.9%)
- Second to last in BPM
We traded Luke for him and would also be gifting the Rockets the 17th overall pick if the season ended today. This was a terrible trade by Frank when it was announced and it's getting worse by the game. We would have been better off just keeping Luke.

Re: The newcomers (Plumlee, EJ and Bones)
The slump he’s in, Bones definitely makes the trade swing in favor of the Nuggets, 1-9 last nite showing no love to his new team. Could it be RW ? Or perhaps Ty Lue’s coaching?

I don't know why EJ's still getting burn either but Ty gives him another start he goes a tidy 21/3/3 for a team-best plus+16 vs the Kings.
I guess we're all not as smart as we thought, or Ty as dumb.

Re: The newcomers (Plumlee, EJ and Bones)
No mention of Covington, and no media askng about him or something related. :/
But with the way the team has played the last two games.. I think things are on rebound. Have to be. They kinda gotta know they can't get into the recent stretch like that again.
Anyway, some may find bits of this amusing and validating : )
Kinda interesting hah (Bones).. 5m45s -- https://youtu.be/Kod3XbFdT4U?t=346

Re: The newcomers (Plumlee, EJ and Bones)
Hyland played in only 5 games since being acquired 5 weeks ago. We gave two 2nd round picks to Lakers to get him. Pretty bad.
Gordon was garbage first few games, but he has been pretty good last 4-5 games.
Plumlee has been underwhelming, but still better than any back-up big we were playing prior to acquiring him. And while Morris is still the starting PF, he has been playing less minutes as he is no longer being used as a small ball 5. That alone is a big positive.

Re: The newcomers (Plumlee, EJ and Bones)
I still like the Bones trade, he is legit 1st round talent with significant weaknesses but is NBA quality sniper (who also likes to shoot...) He’s cost controlled for a couple more years, and we didn’t get any younger at point guard even AFTER jettisoning John Wall. Bones became a future move after Russ showed he can be a contributor.
Our vets give us a better chance of winning right now, so he sits now which is fine.

Ty knows ball

and math

- Amid a rotation where playing time is constantly undergoing evaluation, the Clippers have needed little time to embrace the new face as part of the lineups most often closing out tight games.
“It comes down to trust, we trust him with the ball,” All-Star Paul George said. “He’s going to make the right plays.”
That player is Eric Gordon, the 34-year-old, 6-foot-3 reserve guard whose 89 fourth-quarter minutes since his Clippers season debut Feb. 14 are the team’s second-highest total in that span, surpassed only by George’s 104. The Clippers have outscored opponents by 47 points in those Gordon minutes, a plus/minus that is not only a team high but the sixth-best fourth-quarter plus/minus in the NBA since Feb. 14.

makes no sense to me anyone who is trying to judge the trade for bones based on his current production. we traded two future nothings-as-of-yet for a future maybe-something talent who will be on the roster for some future years, at a position of need, when we are already lacking young talent.
not every trade that is made is one where you see what's what on day 1. and this is certainly one that can only really be evaluated at least some time in the next year, unless we somehow offload bones for less than what we paid for him before that.

Wonder if Bones wishes he didn't get traded, he'd STILL be playing

Yeah but would he actually be playing?

My impression is that he fell into the doghouse in a pretty big way at the end there.
