Schedule Overview: https://theathletic.com/4784236/2023/08/17/la-clippers-schedule-2023-24/

My Watch Fors
- Denver Nuggets: defending NBA champions; former Clippers in DeAndre Jordan and Reggie Jackson; it all started with the greatest 3-1 collapse in NBA history
- Los Angeles Lakers: 11-game winning streak since Tyronn Lue took over; Russell Westbrook revenge games
- Golden State Warriors: former Clipper and savior Chris Paul has joined their arch nemesis, the very team they turned into champions by not taking them seriously in 2012-13 season; could be a sleeper opponent; rivalry could be renewed
- Sacramento Kings: ended 16-year playoff drought by winning season series vs. Clippers; another case of lottery team turned title contender by virtue of Clipper's failure to take competition seriously

Circle your dates: what games will you be watching for that determine the direction of Clippers?

Ballmer should have moved the clippers to the forum this season- they got screwed yet again in terms of back to backs, 3 games in 4 days and matinee games

just terrible

15 back to backs also when the league average is 9.

It is great that they have Westbrook because you know he will play and have a high energy level and may even carry the team to a few unexpected victories when the schedule gets compacted

I'd be wary of that. There may a few games where Westbrook is out as well due to rest or injury. It's possible Clippers will have games where the only players that are DNP will be ones who have made an All-Star Game: Leonard, George and Westbrook. And given their history of unfortunate misfortune, a game without at least one former All-Star will be the norm.

And don't forget: you never know when the league will pull a fast one by rescheduling a game to force Clippers into a three-games-in-a-row situation. Clippers haven't had a back-to-back-to-back in a long time, which is good. But things can change, so best to be prepared for what will be a Killer Kombat season.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we still get screwed over with the schedule in the new arena.

the will still probably get a worse schedule than the Lakers, but having their own arena should alleviate some of the booking issues and especially help with the inordinate amount of matinees

Nah the 12:30pm games will be a thing of the past for starters. They'll be less back to backs as well. The league has to make the schedule as three teams currently play in Crypto at the same time -Kings, Lakers, and Clipps. There's also a rumor that some of this is Crypto being pissed that we're leaving and all the revenue they'll miss from one less team playing in the building. Our new arena will probably take a few concerts away from Crypto as well. There seems to be some hidden elements in all of this and it does seem to point at Crypto being the main culprits

While there won’t be as many, I still feel like the league will schedule matinee games to avoid local tv schedule clashes by having 2 teams playing at the same time in the same market.

Bro the 12:30pm games were because either the Kings or the Lakers had a 7pm game scheduled on the same day at Crypto. There's no more 12:30pm games in our new arena period as we'll have the entire arena to ourselves. And it doesn't matter if the Lakers are playing a 7pm game at Crypto and we're playing a 7pm game at Intuit Dome on the same night. The Angels & Dodgers play at the same time in their respected stadiums all the time all throughout the season. Ballmer is not spending $2 billion plus to play in the afternoon simple because the Lakers are playing at 7pm at Crypto. The only way I ever see us playing a 12:30 afternoon game is if its during the playoffs for ABC on a Sunday but then again that timeslot is for the most popular team/matchup in the playoffs.
